Great guitar value

Comments about Gibson ES-335 Satin Finish Electric Guitar:

There is basically no difference from the other ES-335's except for finish details, minor hardware or neck size. The 57 humbuckers are the best for the early rock or blues sound. It's the sound I have been searching for and hadn't found until trying this guitar with a Fender Blues Jr. amp. (nice combo!) I am wild about the look of the satin cherry finish and Gibson Deluxe tuners, which by the way work perfectly for me. I am using a Kustom 36 Coupe amp with this guitar. The action was low from the factory but without string buzz, however I set it up a bit since my pick technique is rusty. Intonation is spot on. Trying to play some blues and this guitar is all I'll ever need. The sustain, tone, playing ease and slim neck all add up to a player's instrument. You can find fancier models of the ES-335, but none that will play any better.. A tremendous value for the money. The Custom Shop case is top notch. Take a look at one while they are still available.

future classic

Comments about Gibson ES-335 Satin Finish Electric Guitar:

I purchased a 335 satin about 6 months ago on a whim, a little leary of a new Gibsons quality on a slightly lower line. Having played a 335 in the early 70's, I was amazed that this one sounded better with rich deep tones and a serious bite on the treble p/u. The volume takes a lot of movement to get results but I consider it an advantage and thats what volume pedals are for anyway. The action was a little high from the fact. but perfect for me. The frets could probably use a dressing but any time away at the shop would be a musical travesty so I'll just polish them up by bends and vibrato exploits, it's better that way. The finish is satin (cherry). It seems to have been applied very lightly like Lennons Casino. Is that why it sounds so good? Did someone at Gibson have a Stradivarius gene? Is it the R.I. P/U's? If this is laminate I don't want whole wood. Whatever, I really, really like it.

Comments about Gibson ES-335 Satin Finish Electric Guitar:

I recently played this guitar and it does the 335 name justice. the neck was sort of slow but with some polish i think it will play great. im saving up right now to purchase this guitar. its that good. for around $800 less than the 335 ressiue this is really worth buying. With a twin revereb... its the best!
