Comments about Gibson 2014 SG Standard Electric Guitar:
This is my first SG. I have Les Paul's and Strats, but always wanted an SG as well. I went with the walnut finish. The cherry is very nice, of course...just wanted a different look. The guitar is excellent. Love the pickups (have these in a Les Paul Traditional as well) and the neck. Not sure if I will keep the min-eTune system or not (did not buy it for that feature). It actually does a reasonably good job in tuning very quickly to various tunings. I find that I need to tune a bit more after it tunes to get it perfect, but it gets very close for the most part. I have found myself noodling with the various preset tunings, but that's a novelty that will likely wear off for me. I mostly play in standard tuning, some drop tunings, and DADGAD. Fit and finish are excellent. The case is very nice as well...brown with a pink interior. I'm very happy it overall. I don't see a need to ever get a second SG...this one should serve me well for a long time. Also...the walnut finish is very nice...shows the mahogany grain.
