I bought this guitar as a "Take Anywhere" bang around guitar. And in my opinion for the money it fits the bill perfectly. My reasoning was that taking my Fender Strat SRV camping, boating, etc. is out of the question and this guitar solves the problem. And the tone is really not that bad, the construction seems sound, and why not it is a Fender!
