Comments about Fender Deluxe Player's Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I love this guitar! It has sounds that no other stock Stratocaster provides.

The Deluxe Player's Strat has a push-button switch that gives the two pickup combinations that are missing with the standard 5-way Strat switch---namely, all three pickups, and the bridge+neck pickups, which happen to be two of the coolest sounds on the guitar. The all-three-pickups combination is a great sound for rhythm or accompaniment guitar, and the bridge+neck combination is just fabulous for twang leads with lots of chime.

The Vintage Noiseless pickups are a great innovation, and as far as I know this is the only Fender guitar that includes them as a standard feature. They're not completely noiseless, but then no pickup is. Even a humbucker will pick up electromagnetic fields that are strong enough or close enough. But I have to say that these noiseless pickups are a huge improvement over standard single coil pickups, noise-wise. They sparkle for clean tone, but they're plenty fat and rich when I crank the amp. They're really the most versatile pickups I own.

The big surprise for me was the sound of the middle pickup. On my '63 "L" Strat, it's the single-pickup sound I use the least. On the Deluxe Player's Strat, it's the one I use the most. In fact, it's the best single-pickup sound I've ever heard on any Strat I've ever played.

The standard Strat neck is great, but soon after I bought the guitar I added a custom baritone neck. It's a mod that works perfectly on this guitar, if you're into the deeper baritone sound. In fact, I love it so much that I've made this my go-to baritone twang machine. I can't understand why Fender doesn't make a baritone Strat, but with this guitar, you can make your own!

The finish on the body is perfect, and the drilling and fit are good on the pickguard and rear vibrato bridge spring cover (...er, you do know it's NOT a "tremolo" bridge...right?). I have to use all 5 springs and adjust them for greater tension for the heavier baritone strings, but the guitar easily accommodates that set-up. There are no intonation problems, either. Hitting the whammy bar doesn't knock the guitar out of tune.

Oh...and for those who care, the bridge is American-made, as are the pickups. The volume and tone control set-up is standard Strat configuration, and the pots all have a nice, smooth, even taper. I wanted this guitar specifically because I needed absolutely clean twang, and it delivers that…big-time.

The Deluxe Player's Strat is an impressive guitar --- well-made, superb twang, and great sound at a great price. In fact, now I have to get a second one and set it up for standard tuning.

Great Instrument For The Price

By Leonard T

from McAllen, Texas

Comments about Fender Deluxe Player's Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

Talk about the looks and the works, this one makes a five. The sound is a little bit tangy but with thicker strings, problem solved. You might have to add one more of those tension springs at the back to compensate for the heavier strings. The pickups are one of the best. No complains. You get that sweet crisp sound that can only be heard from a fender. The reason why I gave it an overall four is because the intunation is very poorly adjusted. On the upper E string (the thicker one), I had to remove the spring from the screw that adjusts for intunation to make room to get it tuned. I probably just got a bad one or is every one of them that way. What if you had no more room for adjustment? And sure enough, you also have to adjust your string height to your liking. But it sure leaves me one happy lark after all the works. I got it working right for a price that you cant beat.

What an axe !!!

By Darryl Gregg

from Bellbrook, Ohio

Comments about Fender Deluxe Player's Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

My son bought this guitar and we both love it! He chose the blue transparent finish. I have to say the pictures do not do the finish justice. The wood grain looks awesome. The neck has a really nice feel. The vintage noiseless pikups get a great tone for everything from metal (my son) to bluesy rock (me). The extra button that activates the middle pickup give lots of options including a gritty Stevie Ray vibe. This guitar plays better than many guitqars at twice the price. If you are looking for a great vaue on a great guitar look no further.

Great guitar

By BP

from Miami, Florida

Comments about Fender Deluxe Player's Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

This guitar, right out of the box was ready to play. The action was set perfect and Im amazed by how well it stays in tune. This guitar is available in many colors. I chose the Sapphire blue with the maple fret board. What I like is the fact that the body is of ash wood. Certainly gives it some weight, but I love the rich depth and sound you get. The neck is a 12" radius C-shaped neck and is very comfortable and easy to play. All 21 medium-jumbo sized frets are very easily accessible and are good sized. One of the best features I like about this guitar is the pickups. It comes equipped with 3-single coil vintage noiseless pickups. It also comes with a push button switch that activates the bridge pickup when it is not normally selected due to the 5-way normal switch set-up. This pretty much gives you 7 possible tone possibilities for sound. The best thing about these pickups is the way they eliminate the annoying hum. This was not evident until I plugged in my sons Strat (Fender HSS) and there was hum! My main reason for purchasing this guitar was to add a guitar that can give me that twangy single coil sound that my Gibson Les Paul cannot produce. This guitar made me a believer. I love it! The sound is truly amazing especially when played clean. I may take it to the shop and have it set up by a pro. At times the strings tend to rattle a bit and roll off the edges. Still, for the money, this is a bargain and one that I do not regret purchasing.

Beautiful ... with a nice ash...

By Alex-iz3_D

from New Jersey

Comments about Fender Deluxe Player's Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

The guitar is strikingly beautiful- nicely grained ash body through the sunburst finish, and gold finished hardware. Noiseless pickups are truly silent- comparable to my American Deluxe's SCN pickups or the humbuckers on my Gibson LesPaul. Neck feels great and I like the 12" radius. Frets finished nicely-no rough edges on mine...don't know if all coming out of Ensenada are as nicely finished. Nice tones out of these noiseless pickups- especially the nice warm tone with position "5" (neck only)-real jazzy. Nice having the extra pushbutton tonal combinations -afforded by all 3 p/u's and neck/bridge combinations. Would you believe- I find that I prefer this guitar to my Dlx American Strat that costs almost twice as much! Feel better after just reading a Paul McCartney interview where he says over the years that he has recorded & performed with moderately priced instruments (eg:Epiphone Texan, Hofner Bass) because he felt, more or less, that if a particular instrument got the job done, then why overspend ! So in summary:I HIGHLY recommend this guitar!

Sokin' Hot Axe!

By tboneturner666

from Colorado Springs, CO

Comments about Fender Deluxe Player's Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I have played lots of gutars over the past few decades, but I'm always drawn to Strats. I got this one at the music store, they set it up for free, and it has been an absolute joy to play. I like the push button for more combinations, but even in traditional settings it's hot. I got the maple fretboard, and it is sso smooth and fast! It is great for Blues, Rock, eetc.. Give one a try before you buy anything else.

Just Simply Beautiful

By Dennis-Kw8PH

from Tampabay USA Where-else

Comments about Fender Deluxe Player's Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I been seeking this guitar for some 5 to 6 months. I finally got one (Crimson Red/rosewood) and the finish is flawless; the wood grain is beautiful, just beautiful. I have 20 electrics and my favorites are the Strats and my 2 Ibanez 24 frets. This axe is worth every penny and plays very well. (I do need to get the action a little lower) The funny thing...it's not stamped on the back as to where is was made.I know it is not USA, but is also is not stamped like my other guitars. The gig bag is also well padded and has a brass plate in it with "FENDER". Just buy one, you will not be sorry. I also have the item #146001 Fender Lite Ash Stratocaster Electric Guitar with the Seymour Duncan pickups which is an awesome guitar. Music 123 is just great to deal with. Thank you for getting them in stock.
