    Baja Tele

Comments about Fender Classic Series Classic Player Baja Telecaster Electric Guitar:

Wow. I've owned more than a few guitars at this point in my life and this one is good. I compared it
to my 09 American Std and I think I'll keep this one. Mostly because of the neck profile. I was concerned about the poly finish not being as resonant as the nitro, but unplugged I can't tell the difference. I was also concerned about the weight, but mine came in at 8lb's. With these pickups you could be happy without the S-1 switching, but it doesn't bother me so I'll keep it. I really like the bridge pickup on this guitar, but I am more of a neck pickup player, if that helps. The into was a little sharp on all the strings when I got it, but I needed to lower them all about a half turn anyway, so it was something I fixed. It actually setup up nice. Even if you read music you should be able to use a screwdriver, an Allen wrench, and a tuner. Right?

Fender Classic Series Classic Player Baja Telecaster Electric Guitar

Comments about Fender Classic Series Classic Player Baja Telecaster Electric Guitar:

I give out a few eights, a lot of nines, this one ten, and only one four with a bunch of reviews I've been writing, but I'm giving this guitar a 10. My reviews are high because I research my products, though due to living in a small town, I don't get to play a guitar before I buy unless it's an Ibanez. Now, Fenders and Epiphones are no longer sold in town.

First, buying it from the local guy meant it came in perfect condition. I wanted the "Butterscotch" or more yellowy color but it wasn't available at that time . . . I bought it the first year out, but the Sand is pretty sweet and quickly grew on me. I love the brightness of Fender maple necks. The action is a bit higher than my other guitars, but I like it . . . when, I rarely play it.

I have two more expensive guitars and two more cheaper guitars, but this is my gem. When the others fade, I'll be playing this as an old man. It's tucked away like my sweet "precious".

The ability to combine pickups for some "humbucking" is nice because it offers more tonal varieties. It's been a while, but you can get the best bluesy sound tone for intervals imaginable. The more power combination has like a power pop rock tone.

Those are the two I most remember because as I stated this is my sweet "precious". I would want to replace it if lost or damaged, though I've played on the American Deluxe Telecaster and that really chimed. However, I love the slim taper neck on the Classic Baja more than the chunky neck on the American Deluxe I played. To each his own.

But, I clearly love this guitar. It is the only TEN I will give out on any of the products I own. I highly recommend it, and I've never seen anyone put'er down.

This is a beautiful guitar. I bought it about a month ago. The playability on this thing is amazing. The finish is incredible. It's really silky. Played through a Fender tweed there is no sweeter sound. Well worth the money

    Expected better

    By

Comments about Fender Classic Series Classic Player Baja Telecaster Electric Guitar:

The first guitar had bad pickup switching. Sometimes it worked sometimes it didn't. The S1 switch built into the volume knob never worked. I returned this guitar and received another. The switching works and the guitar palys and sounds good. However there are blemishes in the finish just behind the bridge plate. They are small circles that look like some corrosive liquid was dripped on it. I unfortunately I didn't notice the blemishes until it was too late to return the guitar. I contacted Fender to express my disappointment. I own 12 guitars and have never had a problem with Fender in the past but my last purchase was awhile ago. With the custom shop design and the price higher than a standard Mexican made guitar I expected better. Fender told me "my best option at this point" was to take the guitar to an authorized service center. Living in the country the nearest place is an hour away in another small town. I doubt the owner is going to want to get involved when I take him a guitar I bought online.
