I've had this guitar for about 6 months now and I've never had a bad time playing it. I've played in bars with some friends and it's a blast. I love the sound of the Texas special pickups. They're not exactly like Stevie's, but if you spend a few minutes and set your effects up right, you can come really close to that Texas blues sound. This guitar is perfect for cold shot and I found that it's perfect for just about every Stevie song from Mary had a little lamb to SRV's version of Voodoo Child. It's awesome. A real pleasure to play. I like the lefty tremolo too with the bar on the top. It makes it easier to palm when you're playing the slow vibrations songs. IT'S A PERFECT GUITAR.

Sweetness of tone, high detail of fine craftsmanship. One can't go wrong with this strat. If you loved Stevie's music, then you HAVE to get his guitar. I've been so inspired that my music has improved. My first experience with jumbo frets was a bit strange and uncomfortable, but once use to it, I won't settle for anything less. Really helps in bending those notes while sustaining the sweetness of tone. No regrets on this purchase!

Long term experience

Comments about Fender Artist Series Stevie Ray Vaughan Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I probably have one of the first SRVs since I bought it back in germany right after it came out. This must be at least 15 years ago or so. There's not much more to say than I still love this guitar better than any otehr else. During the last 6-7 years I can honestly say it even gets better every year - probably due to the fine wood selection. I really like evrything about it - although I have replaced the bridge pickup to have a less brighter sound for distortion rhythm stuff. It's not that I didn't like the Texas Special on the bridge - it just didn't match very well with the cover band I have been playing some harder rock stuff. This way I coud use this guitar for everything. The neck pickup blows you away even with high gain settings. The best lead sound you can find. Forget all this crappy modern strat stuff. this is the real satisfaction. It's not true that you MUST have this guitar to get an SRV sound since Stevie sounded outstanding with every guitar. It's just a wonderful instrument and it reminds me of one of my all time heroes every time I look at it.

Really nice guitar...could be better

Comments about Fender Artist Series Stevie Ray Vaughan Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

This guitar is amazing....but it could be better...mine comes out of tune a lot...sometimes I play a few chords and its out of tune already....I might just need a set up done but...the other thing I don't like about it is the high action it comes with...I know Stevie played with high action and the left handed trem but.....fender should make some regular ones too......they prolly do and I look like an idiot right now...lol....the intonation is a little off for the price of the guitar.....the pick ups sound great....very nice looking guitar...

Brilliantly crafted, amazing SRV sound

By Nick-RsiwE

Comments about Fender Artist Series Stevie Ray Vaughan Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

Hands-down the finest blues guitar I've ever played. Received the SRV 10 days ago and can't keep my hands off it (my Les Paul Studio and PRS CE-22 just sit in their cases now). The craftsmanship, pickups, neck and range of sound are superb. The higher action, Texas pickups, and pao ferro board combined with the 250R strings gives you a ringing-bright crispness not possible with any other guitar. I thought about buying this guitar used - but I'm glad I made the investment for a new one out of the box. Only downside is the Fender "decal" on the headstock - a shame on a signature piece. MUSIC123 got my guitar to my overseas army post office address in an amazing 6 days, and the packing was superb. If you're looking for a guitar that delivers blues, particularly SRV, then you must own this. You will NOT sound like SRV with any other stock Strat or other brand-name guitar.

Totally awesome guitar

By Rand Blackwolf

Comments about Fender Artist Series Stevie Ray Vaughan Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I have owned my SRV since 98 . I know people who would never play a Fender guitar that can't keep their hands off it. I have single handedly converted numerous guitar players who play high end guitars into owning this special beauty . I have never loved a guitar more. This is undoubtedly the best guitar I have ever owned. Just one last little note: I own and play Les Pauls - PRS and custom guitars but my favorite one is the SRV .

The only Fender for the blues

By Doc-QzqFK

from Conway, SC

Comments about Fender Artist Series Stevie Ray Vaughan Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I've played many different guitars, but this one is the ultimate for the blues enthusiast. The sound is incredible from the Texas Special pickups (there's nothing like it). The neck is effortless and the jumbo frets let you bend notes and vibrato freely. The left handed tremolo bar is a little strange at first, but you'll love the feel as you play it more. It's hard to put this guitar down. It just begs to be played. If you're a SRV fan and you play guitar...you have to own this one.
