Tradition redesigned.

The Fender American Stratocaster Electric Guitar is a Fender icon. Juicy upgrades include a richer, deeper neck tint for a more elegant and expensive appearance; glossed neck front for improved looks with satin back for smooth playability; and bent steel Fender saddles with classic look and great tone. String spacing is narrowed for modern playability, saddle height screws are resized to reduce rough feel, and string slot on saddle is elongated to reduce string friction or breakage. The Copper Infused Cast Strat® Bridge Block (steel with copper—100% metal) provides increased mass and improved tone. This Strat features the original headstock shape but has staggered machine heads losing one string tree and improving string angle over the nut. Custom staggered pickup magnets improve string-to-string balance and give the G-string better tone. Cosmetics include parchment/black/parchment pickguard and parchment pickup covers, knobs, and tips.

The return of the American Standard Series Strat continues Fender's tradition of commitment to the people who play Fender instruments out there in the real world. Today's American Standard Stratocaster guitars are worthy heirs of their revered ancestors—mindful of player needs and taking full advantage of modern advances, yet remaining completely true to the elements and spirit that made these instruments popular in the first place. They feature excellent bridges, neck and body finishes, and a Fender-exclusive high-tech molded case. Still on board for the American Standard Strat are the beloved hand-rolled fingerboard edges, Alnico V pickups, the Delta system that includes a high-output bridge pickup and a special no-load tone control, providing more gain, more high end, and a little more "raw" tone, and staggered tuning machines for tone and stability guaranteed to last a lifetime (with its limited lifetime warranty)!

American Standard Strat® Bridge
Gives sought-after tone with modern smooth trem travel. Block retains the mass and tone of a vintage bridge block, but is chamfered for access to deeper dives. Saddles have the classic look and tone, but with modern improvements (spacing, slot elongation, height, screw length).

Bridge Component Specifics
American Standard saddles - The original vintage-style Fender bent steel adjustable saddle is one of the components that give vintage Fenders their tonal 'mojo.' Fender conducted tone comparison tests, and fell in love with them all over again. They have a wider tonal range and more character many other saddles. Then Fender improved them; narrowing the spacing to afford more room (and complement the bigger frets and rolled edges), elongated the string slot to reduce friction and string breakage, and improved the string break angle over the primary contact point.

Tone-fusion block - A typical cast bridge block is impregnated with a resin to eliminate voids in the material and to bond it together … this steel block is infused with copper, which makes the block 100% homogeneous metal. The result is a more musical, higher mass bridge that has more of that machined-block sound. Fender was also able to keep the same American Series profile for increased tremolo travel.

What can I say, it's the most popular guitar on the planet. The American standard sets the bar in modern stratocasters. The newer models has some refinements that I feel are an upgrade to previous years. For example, the finish is thinner and the front of th neck is polished to a full gloss. (just the headstock on rosewood models).

Mine is white with maple fretboard. The pickups and electronics are suitable for many styles of music. Mine handles jazz, rock n roll, blues and reggae equally well. All wiring is cleanly done with quality components. Positions 2 and 4 are hum cancelling. If you need something for high gain metal, you might want to look elsewhere although some have made the traditional strat work for it.

The attention to detail makes these stand out from the mexican versions. Especially in the fretwork and neck. It's just flawless.

Overall, you can't go wrong with the am standard strat. It's called the standard for a reason.

The american standard is a good blend of modern and vintage. All components are of quality and the construction of these are also good. The added touches of the newer american standards are an improvement for me. I tend to favor the vintage style strats but I have to say the modern american standard lives up to it's name and history. You can't go wrong really.

Comments about Fender American Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I had never owned a great guitar for the 15 years I played, and after being motivated by an online review with Tom Hess (Rhapsody Of Fire guitarist)I finally felt inspired enough to go for it and get a nice instrument. Overall this guitar has a great sound, (..as I expected, I love the sound of fender) and it plays really well. If you haven't purchased a high end guitar before, I think this would be a great start.

Comments about Fender American Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I have wanted an american strat for some time, have had a mexi standard, but this is FAR superior. Finish in the the 3 tone sunburst is beautiful. The Maple neck is slick and fast and perfect strat tone. This thing plays like a dream. SKB made flight case is a nice bonus. Will be enjoying for years to come.

Comments about Fender American Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

Awesome playabilty, workmanship and appearance.Sweet sounds through my Engl Thunders clean channel.Nice when driven as well but the cleans through the Engl are amazing.Beautiful guitar. The blizzard pearl and the charcoal frost metallic will have you just staring at them in the case and hung across your shoulder. And two thumbs up once again to Music123 for another awesome deal. Its so nice to purchase a guitar thats been in its case as opposed to hanging on a wall in a music store and been through who knows what 7 days a week. Not to mention the deals and money saved on not having to pay tax on an axe make Music123 a daily stop when online.Well done.

    American Fender Stratocaster

    By Fender18

Comments about Fender American Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

You literally can't go wrong with a Fender Stratocaster. The guitar I purchased plays FANTASTIC. It's great with distortion or if you just like clean picking. The neck is great on it too, mine has the maple fretboard and it's very easy to pick on. If you want a great playing guitar at a reasonable price, go with a fender.

    The Best, Ever!!!!!!

    By Jeffrey Osgood-W9zil

    from Woonsocket, R.I.

Comments about Fender American Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

Mine is the 2006, 60th Anniversary Commemorative model, which I bought a few days ago from a friend who purchased it back in 2006 but had never played it, instead planning on keeping it as a collectable. His loss is now my gain. When I got this guitar home, I immediately took the plastic off the pickguard and backplate and gave it a slight setup and string change. Once I did that, it was ready to go and exceeded all of my expectations. The rolled fingerboard edges on the neck, make playing, a ease, while the 57/62 pickups definately have that retro ,classic Fender tone which is quite suitable for Blues and Classic Rock, although with the use of my Zoom effects processor, I was able to pull off some serious Metal riffs with ease as well. The Delta Tone system is a added plus, considering that I've been using a MIM standard for the last 4 years. As far as tuning goes, the stock Fender tuners more than hold their own as far as I'm concerned and didn't cause me any problems what so ever! All in all, this is one great guitar and is definately a keeper which will not be going anywhere!

    Fender Stratocaster

    By Ash Telecaster

Comments about Fender American Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I would not call the Strat a do everything guitar but it does an aweful lot and what it does it does great. To start, it is simply a beautiful instrument. You just can't find anything else with as magnificent a finish as on these instruments. Secondly just think SRV, Hendrix, Beck, Clapton, etc... it is central to the signature sounds of some amazing players. The action is awesome and the wammy works great. Just just can't lose with this guitar.
