EMG 81-7 active pickups crank out heavy bass and scream in the upper registers. The ESP LTD SC-607B's String-thru body and TonePros locking bridge add resonance and sustain to the thru-body maple 27" scale neck with rosewood fretboard, SRC inlay at the 12th fret, and mahogany wings.

This is my first 7 String and couldn't be happier. I am stepping up from an Ibanez RG 6 String and found the transition to the ESP was different but not difficult to get used to. Some have complained about the pickup selection but I personally think they are fine where they are located. The EMG's sound great and have experienced no noise and have a suprisingly good tone even when ran through no distortion. A pretty versatile guitar that now lets me go lower, I am addicted.

The action on this guitar is fantastic, straight from the box. It holds drop tuning, some seriously hardcore sounds from this thing. It is a bit noisy-(though, that could just be my old equipment.) All in all, it's well worth the money.

This is one bad axe! Pickup combination and location are great! Fast, comfortable neck. I tuned it down a step for a even lower crunch. Easy to tune, string through, no tremolo or Floyd rose to worry about. I have an Ibanez 7 string and a couple of 6's but play this one the most.

I love this guitar. Plays great. I like the extended scale, and it's my favorite of the 7s I own(including Schecter, Ibanez). I have big hands, so the bigger fretboard of a 7-string has always felt rather natural to me. And playing metal/rock, I love the low end without having to detune one of my 6s and lose the higher strings. And this guitar just feels better than either of my others, and I like not having the tremolo to worry about. Very solidly built, great tone. I love the active EMG's. It's become one of my main axe's. I didn't buy this guitar because I'm a big Deftones fan, I bought it because it's a great guitar and a great value, and had everything I was looking for in a 7 string guitar. Highly recommended.
