Very good guitar

By Felonius Monk

from Alabama

Comments about ESP LTD M-100FM Electric Guitar:

This was my first ESP/LTD, bought because I needed something with a Floyd for recording. I was skeptical - until it arrived. First, I can't believe this guitar is as cheap as it is. There were no problems with mine, none. Frets, finish, neck, setup, everything was perfect. I go the trans black and it subtle but nice. The licensed Floyd is one of the best I have ever played. No tuning issues at all. Once you have it dialed in it's there. The neck is very fast and the XJ frets are easy for chording and bends. There were no problems with the pots or switches. The only down side, if you are really looking for one, is the pickups. They are darker than most although still pretty good. I kept the stock pickups because, as someone else noted, they can do anything from Jazz to Metal. But, in giving that versatility, you loose any real chance at them shining in anything. If I had to change anything, pickups would be first, but they are good enough for what I do. All in all, a pretty good guitar for a pretty good price. I use mine for recording, have played gigs with it and it has never let me down. Better pickups and different body wood might make this better, but then you are not looking at a guitar in this price range.

Forget Jackson

By Michael-VMcOI

Comments about ESP LTD M-100FM Electric Guitar:

Let me start by saying the pictures of this guitar fail to do it justice. When I took mine out of the box I was shocked. Beautiful finish. The licensed Floyd Rose works great. It always returns to correct tuning. I replaced my bridge pup with a DiMarzio X2N. This was not necessary. I read the stock pups were no good. Not true. They are very hot and sound great through the right pedal. I love this guitar. I can just imagine how awesome the higher end models are. You won't regret getting the M-100FM in see-thru black.

Really good guitar for the money!

By John-d8BQJ

Comments about ESP LTD M-100FM Electric Guitar:

I got this guitar about seven months after I started playing guitar and it was well worth shelling out the money for this beast. It wsa a cheap guitar and a few months after I got it, I put EMGs in this baby, and boy did it scream after that! The guitar is very well built, the bolt on is contoured to fit your hand, and the Floyd keeps you in tune. A lot of people don't like floyds, but they are amazing! I can bend, slap, yank, and basically do anything to that bridge, and I'll stay in tune until the day I loosen those nuts near the headstock.

It's a beast

By John Weber

from Lilburn, Ga

Comments about ESP LTD M-100FM Electric Guitar:

I got this guitar and I was blown away. My other guitar was a lotus strat knock off, however, this guitar left it in its dust. I picked it up and started playing stuff that I could never do on the lotus. After about six months I put the active EMGs on it, a 81 85 set. They sound amazing. I have played my guitar teachers M-1000 and it is a good guitar, but I don't like the neck. I love the satin finish on the neck, it's probably the best feature next to the Floyd Rose and 24 frets. The Floyd is awesome. It never goes out of tune and I can divebomb like crazy. This guitar is well worth your money. And if you want a cool looking guitar that you can shred on and don't want to spend a lot of money, this is the guitar for you.

Does stay in tune!!

By Richard -IRZQH

from Carson,California

Comments about ESP LTD M-100FM Electric Guitar:

It is a beautiful guitar, nice finish. To add to the tremolo it needs to be "broken in" because it seems kind of stiff when you first try it out, but when you use it a lot it becomes more loose. The pick ups are stock nothing really to complain about but I would prefer upper price pick ups, when I play this guitar with my Digitech Hot Head its amazing perfect for what I play, I like how the guitar is built reverse head stock, nice neck, finish, name on 12 fret, this guitar is amazing.

Awesome

By Kyle Bowser

Comments about ESP LTD M-100FM Electric Guitar:

This guitar is a must have. I've been playing for over a year now. I started out with a piece of junk then looked around. I found this guitar. It amazing for the Metallica heavy metal sound. There is only one thing wrong with this guitar. The pickups. They are good to start out but if the future I recommend EMG 81.

Really Good, Not perfect

By Lepisu

from NY

Comments about ESP LTD M-100FM Electric Guitar:

This guitar is well made. Very solid, heavy and balanced, the finish is beautiful, very strong and will last. The tone is full, tight and well projected. On the other hand, the Floyd Rose unit is poor. Not only won't it keep you in tune, but when you pull the whammy bar up, the big intonation screw-heads will touch the strings and either mute them or change the pitch. The pickups aren't too good either, but that's expected for a guitar of such price. Nice deep and tight sound, good for metal, rock or jazz, and depending on what pickups you put on it, it can even play blues. If you buy this guitar you will need to buy a trem-stabilizer to help you with the tuning, and the intonation screw-heads a bit and put a nice set of new pickups on it. You will have then a very, VERY good guitarI have DiMarzio Super distortion (bridge) and airnorton (neck), which gives it an almost acoustic sound when played clean in the middle position.I recommend this guitar to those who are willing to work on it and upgrade it. The end result will make you very happy. Good luck with it

Comments about ESP LTD M-100FM Electric Guitar:

I just got this guitar this Xmas. I've been playing for 5 years and this guitar blows my Fender Strat right out of the water. It is a awesome guitar for a great price. I highly recommend this guitar for the novice player or the heavy metalist. Again, great guitar. ESP, U never cease to amaze me.

Very Beautiful guitar

By David Monroy

from Cali, Colombia

Comments about ESP LTD M-100FM Electric Guitar:

This is a very nice guitar, killing shape, the Floyd Rose, if it is well calibrated, never lets the guitar out of tune. If you lower the bridge a little, the guitars turns very soft, If you love the sound of bands like Dream Theater, Satriani, Vai, this guitar is not for you, because the pickups have to much bass, but that makes them great for heavy metal.

not too bad...

By jay

from Bay Area, CA

Comments about ESP LTD M-100FM Electric Guitar:

If I had to sum it up in one word, it's a very standard...but it's very solid and I'm quite happy with it... the only thing I would have to say about it is it's tuning. The locks on the top of the neck sometimes makes the pitch slightly higher because it locks down the strings, however, on the other end where the electronics are, there are fine tuning knobs to adjust it back... I guess it's more of an inconvenience than anything else...great guitar though!
