This is a great guitar! I became interested in this when looking for a Gibson Les Paul. I played both guitars and found that the Les Paul was very nice but when I picked up the ESP I was in love. The thing was light as a feather and the two EMGs SCREAM! Not to mention the cool looks. ESP has hit a winner with this guitar and I am happy to be a proud owner of this guitar. You can play those little magical riffs from Phish with ease and then turn right around and lay some crushing power chords. All and all very nice.

As a converted Bass Player, I was partial to active pick-up guitars, and this ESP had a very compelling look, which prompted me to cast caution to the wind and make a catalog purchase. With one exception, the guitar's components were functional. However, there were some "hi-frets" from the 15th fret forward, which necessitated a complete fret leveling. Because of a need to get into the studio, I had to have this done immediately at my expense, although M-123 would have corrected the problem under their generous warranty. While the EC 1000 plays reasonably well, when viewing it in person, it lacks the "custom look" that some of the other "hi-end" imports now sport. While I am using it now, I will, most likely, sell it and acquire something a little more ornate, and which I can do a hands-on test before purchase. On some of the hi-output amps I use in the studio, the guitar tends to distort out prematurely on the hi-end If you are considering this model, I would recommend a hands-on approach and compare it against other models in the same price range. Its OK, but if you are to make your living from your axe, you will probably expect a little more at the price level here of $900-$1000.

Awesome Guitar!!

By davidtothewilson

from Undisclosed

Comments about ESP LTD Deluxe EC-1000 Electric Guitar:

This guitar is awesome! I first picked up an EC-1000 about four years ago in my local guitar shop and loved it. I played it for a couple hours there and wanted it so bad. I didn't have the money to buy it and so I waited until I did. This Christmas I decided that it was time to give my Schecter some time off and buy a new guitar. The EC was my first choice. I've played a couple over the years that have sucked. I think most of it was due to poor adjustments made by some guitar techs and other stuff. I decided to buy one anyway because I knew that I had played quite a few amazing EC's and knew it would be worth it. I got the guitar a few days before Christmas, opened it on the 25th and haven't stopped playing it since. This guitar is so sick!! I am so happy that I bought it. I got the Vintage Black and it looks so dang sick. People love it, I love it, my amp loves it. It's such a sweet guitar. If you have any hesistation to buy it, get rid of it and dish out the cash, you'll never regret it!

Great Value, Perfect for Me

By Randy St John

from Undisclosed

Comments about ESP LTD Deluxe EC-1000 Electric Guitar:

The LTD EC-1000 is one of the best values that I have found in a fixed bridge solid body guitar.

I got mine used so cannot comment on the factory setup but mine came well setup just the same. Mine is the white with perloid binding on the neck and body with black hardware. The finish was great with just a minor blemish on the binding by the cutout which I noticed only after a few weeks of owning the guitar.

Some of the features that I love are the thin C neck which is thiner then your standard LP and Tele neck but thicker then an Ibanez WizardII neck. It is just right for my hands. The locking tuners and compensated nut are very nice touches as well. The build quality seems very nice.

They come standard with EMGs, which I personally don't like, so I replaced them with some seymour duncans and Dimarzios and now I love the sound.

For the price this is a very nice guitar. You can find cheaper ones, Ibanez Art Series and Schecters which are both nice guitars and good values as well, but for the price I think this is the perfect fixed bridge guitar for me. I suggest you try this out at a local guitar store compared with others too see if it matches your style.

ESP EC1000 vs Gibson Les Paul Studio

By bbby914

from Undisclosed

Comments about ESP LTD Deluxe EC-1000 Electric Guitar:

I sold my Gibson to buy this guitar, the ESP EC1000 in Artic White. Better action, more pickup, beautiful finish, plays like a dream!! The Gibson had "iffy" fret board, frets were clumbsy--abrasive edges on the side of the neck and I bought it new as well. Crappy clean sound on the Gibson, but the ESP has a range of nice clean and rock sounds. The ESP came loaded where as the Gibson came with so-so pickups, terrible volume pots with no range of dynamics--you either get all on or all off whereas the ESP came with full range volume pots and awsome active EMG pickups. I had a broken toggle switch on the Gibson and tried to get one from Gibson and was refused and their reason was they didn't want to sell me a toggle switch cause I might put it in another guitar!!??? WHAT! So, Gibson is just a name for an average very pricy guitar whereas this ESP I got will run circles around it with sound, looks, and response. For the investment for a musician, the ESP is awesome, for the Gibson it is a way over-priced average guitar that you will have to change out the pots and pickups and have the frets worked on before you get near the quality of the ESP.

got a 2nd one

Comments about ESP LTD Deluxe EC-1000 Electric Guitar:

I bought a second one (black) and have been doing lots of shows with these guitars and they are just amazing. The feel and sound of these guitars just completely blows me away and they stay in tune bigtime. I tuned it one night after rehearsal and put it in the case and 2 days later did a 5 hour video shoot with it and never bothered checking the tuning because there was no need with the filming and all...then put it in the case and went 250 miles to the next show and checked tuning the next day in the hotel room and guess what...it was dead on perfect!!!! I love these guitars dearly..

Great Guitar

By eclipseman

from Houston, TX

Comments about ESP LTD Deluxe EC-1000 Electric Guitar:

I've owned one for over a year and a half now and I love it. A few months in, the stock toggle crapped out on me but it was under warranty. It took a while to get it fixed and i ended up having to pay for labor, which sucked. The action on mine is so low its sick. There is a bit of fret buzz, but it lets me play so much faster I don't mind. The abalone looks really impressive for those of you in doubt. Mine is white, but I've seen the blue and green ones and they are lighter than in the pictures on this site. Mine weighs about 8 pounds. Locking tuners are also awesome. This guitar will spoil you!

An Incredible guitar!

By Mike-P32yk

from San Diego California

Comments about ESP LTD Deluxe EC-1000 Electric Guitar:

I have the amber sunburst model with the duncans. The guitar is beautiful, the flamed maple top along with the abalone make the guitar stunning to look at. The neck is incredibly fast and the body just 1/8 inch slimmer than a Les Paul, but with a belly and lower horn in-cut for comfort and playability. Everything on this guitar is custom, the tuners, nut, pickups, bridge/tailpiece, all top notch for such a low price. The duncans are incredibly versatile ranging from clean country to screaming metal (willie from lamb of god uses this exact guitar as his signature model!) If you are on a limited budget this guitar is the highest quality you can buy for such a low price, way beyond an overpriced and under-equipped epiphone or gibson les paul.

What an AMAZING GUITAR!

By Bigmetaltrain

from Palmer, AK

Comments about ESP LTD Deluxe EC-1000 Electric Guitar:

Wow! I just purchased my ESP EC-1000 yesterday and I couldn't be more pleased! I love the crushing tone from the EMG 81 and the amazing cleans from the EMG 60. I really can't put it down. I purchased mine in Vintage Black and even if you had the FBI come in, no one would find a finger print. I love it, you will love it. All you Metalheads out there need to get one. Now!

Great metal monster

Comments about ESP LTD Deluxe EC-1000 Electric Guitar:

Im the proud owner of an EC1000 Deluxe, and I actually was almost going to buy a Gibson Les Paul. A lot of people thought I had lost my mind passing up a Gibson. But the ESP felt right. I play Hard Rock and I need a guitar that can handle it. This thing comes loaded with EMGs 81 (b) and 60 (n), basically about all you need to rock out. Plus instead of a maple top, this guitar is all mahogany, which gives you more of a thick sound, because it produces good lows and low mids. You get standard Sperzel locking tuners, which I never had used until this guitar and Im never going back. Locking tone pros bridge system, so it doesnt fail off when you change strings. A lot lighter than a paul will ever be. Easy access battery compartment. Beautiful paint and inlays. I own 2 ESP models and the quality is, in my opinion, way better than any other guitar company. Ive played with others but I rely and depend on my ESP. So at least give it a try because this monster doesnt deserve to be looked over.
