Comments about Epiphone Vintage G-400 Electric Guitar:

I purchased this guuitar here almost a year ago. My first new electric guitar in over 20 years and I have all positive experiences so far. I primarily play bass, but I like to dabble in guitar some after a loooong break! It is well ballanced and feels good when I'm playing it, I especially enjoy the action on the fret board. It came pretty well set up out of the box. I am impressed. Well done Epi, you have another new fan.

    Awesome Axe!!!

Comments about Epiphone Vintage G-400 Electric Guitar:

In my 15 years of playing guitar, I can say I have owned just about everything. From a Gibson ES-335 to a Les Paul Standard and SG. As well as many Fender USA guitars... Now that my financial situation is not what it once was, I looked for a cost effective good guitar. I found it in the Epi Vintage G-400. The quality of this guitar is every bit as good as the Gibson's I have owned and the stock pick ups are just fine. They have bite, crunch, growl, and nice harmonics. I wouldn't change a thing. Of course it would be nice to throw a pair of Gibson pups in, but it isn't necessary. These guitars sound awesome. And for the price range, this is probably the best guitar you can buy. If someone stole mine, and I have had guitars stolen before at bars, I would get another one the same day. Excellent guitar. When you buy a Gibson, you are paying American wages and everything else that comes along with American labor. Strip all that extra cost away, and you have a Gibson guitar here. I recommend anyone, beginner or pro, to give this a shot prior to blowing a lot on a Gibby. Set neck, Grover tuning machines, Chrome hardware, nice finish, tune-o-matic bridge....What else can you want or should I say need?

    Great Beginners Guitar

Comments about Epiphone Vintage G-400 Electric Guitar:

This guitar is a beginners guitar, but as one it does a great job. It was my first good electric guitar and I will never forget it. Mine rang very well, it was super light but really loud. By the way, upgrading the pickups can go a long way for this one.

    Epiphone SG G-400

    By drcrutch

Comments about Epiphone Vintage G-400 Electric Guitar:

I have been playing guitar for about 2-3 years. I own seven guitars--a Gibson Les Paul, this SG Epiphone, a Fender Strat among others. This guitar is every bit as good as the Gibson. I've had the opportunity to take the tours of Gibson's factories in Nashville & Memphis. Let's just say that if you take a Gibson guitar--add the "American" costs of health-insurance for employees, benefits, union dues, taxes, etc. then what you have is a $2,400 guitar. Stripped away of the "American" influence is a guitar, made in Indonesia--manufactured by Epiphone using the EXACT same techniques as Gibson--but no benefits for employees, no health-insurance, no union dues, etc. then, "poof" you have this Epiphone. Epiphone is a Gibson and Gibson is an Epiphone. . .this guitar plays as well as my Les Paul--or should I say my Les Paul plays as well as my SG--except my Les Paul costs $2K more. Is that "LITTLE" difference worth it? Nope.
