A no-frills, economy version of the legendary dreadnought.

A true legend of acoustic instruments, the Gibson Hummingbird was first introduced in 1960 as Gibson's earliest square-shoulder dreadnought. The Epiphone Limited Edition Hummingbird Artist is a no-frills edition of a classic acoustic guitar that features a solid spruce top, mahogany backs and sides for a warm, natural acoustic tone. The 25.5" scale mahogany neck is topped with a rosewood fingerboard that facilitates fast picking styles. Appointments include a sculpted tortoise shell pickguard and split parallel fingerboard inlays. The Epiphone Hummingbird Artist Guitar possesses all the power you expect from a dreadnought and has strong bass tones that are favored by country and bluegrass players.

Great value and great sounding !!!

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Hummingbird Artist Acoustic Guitar:

Bougdht mine in Nov. of 2009. Sounds better than my other two Epi Hummingdbirds ( a 1995 model and a 2006 model). The Hummingbird Artist, is more true to the dimensions of the orginal early 1960's Gibson Humminbird. The finish is fantastic, the faded cherry sunburst is more to the "spirit" of the'60's Humminbird, than the present Epi Hummingbird.Sounds much more than a $249.00 guitar. a real "bang for the buck" It is a "worthy" tribute to one of the most beloved guitars of the '60s !!!!

The Limited Artist

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Hummingbird Artist Acoustic Guitar:

Normally, you would hope that the guitar would be flawless upon arrival, but know that there might minor issues. Well, my Hummingbird LTD Edition Artist came with one issue--minor tuning, that 's it. It was set up seemingly for me--string height, no buzz, playability. It actually sings when playing from 7 - 12 frets, with open strings and and playing with the harmonics. The sound is big, bassy, yet the trebles jump right in there, and it balances itself well. The finish is smooth, and just minor cosmetics at the heel of the fretboard as it joins the sound board. I am extremely pleased with it. It is beautiful to look at, it feels just right when open noting and finger picking (though the nut width could be a bit wider for me--I have big fingers, so I tend to bump adjacent strings until my hands and fingers warm up to playing). The LTD Artist is the way to go for a Hummingbird if you like guitars, but have to play ona budget. I just don't have the money to buy a Gibson, and when you can get a guitar for 20th of the cost of a Gibson with the same quality sound and appointments, why would one want a Gibson, except to have the name. This guitar is worth every penny invested. It is beautiful, plays fantastic, virtually flawless, and feels like a guitar you've been playing for years right out of the box. I am restringing mine today, because I really wants to put it through the paces. I wll write more when I mic it and play it amped up. This is the guitar I have been searching for but until the LTD Artist came along, I was just too skeptical. I trust Epiphone much more now. They just don't knock-off Gibson, they rival in every way. If Gibson was an honest company, they'd make better quality guitars affordable to the working players of the world. Gibson's attempt at affordable means making second quality guitars available with Gibson logos. They say the name, but are horrible playing instruments. Shame on Gibson. Bravo Epiphone!

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Hummingbird Artist Acoustic Guitar:

After looking at all of the lower end guitars I have found that for tone, appearance and value the guitar is unbeatable. The guitar plays like it cost much more! A new set of strings and you are ready!
