Purchased my Epi Hummingbird a year ago and what a great buy. Having played for over 40 years with so many guitars this was a surprise Beautiful sound, easy to play and a great looking instrument. Had the strings changed and completed a reset and sounds as good as the Gibson. Play in a lot the jams in Yuma and this guitar is a conversation piece...buy it and you won't be disappointed.

It sounds much nicer than a guitar in this price range ought to sound but it needed a little bit of effort to get it there. The Hummingbird came with a signed Epiphone inspection sheet with all of the expected items checked - including truss rod adjustment, bridge, nut, finish, etc. I think somebody at Epiphone must have been in a hurry, because the bridge was notched completely wrong - string spacing was the worst I have ever seen. Fortunately I have the right files and was able to redo it, making the guitar playable. Also, the truss rod needed adjustment - it was loose giving the neck a noticable bow. After tightening, the neck is straight and plays beautifully. For me, these were minor issues and not really too unexpected from a guitar in this price range, but for some, these issues could have been a bit troublesome. Makes me wonder how closely Epiphone really inspects their products. The sticker on back of the headstock which reads "100% Inspected and Set-Up in the U.S.A by 26" is a bit suspect. All that being said, I'd buy the guitar again in a heartbeat...

I bought this Hummingbird and boy am I glad I did. It replaced an Epi AJ that I have had for a while, I can't find a thing wrong with it other than natural beauty of the guitar in cherry burst. It cries out to be played, and I do play it more that I ever did my other one. The sound is fantastic, as good as any flat tops I have heard and I am proud to be the owner. This completes my collection till another great deal comes along. If you're thinking about buying a Hummingbird, do it, you won't regret it.

It looks amazing, low action and great tone but I think the neck on mine is a little bowed. I get a fret buzz on the A string. Whatever though I'm still very happy to have it.

FOR YEARS I OWNED A GIBSON HUMMINGBIRD USED THE HECK OUT OF IT . DURING HURRICANE'S LAST YEAR I LOST EVERYTHING I OWNED , DUE TO FLOOD . I PURCHASED THIS EPIY AND I THINK IT PLAYS AS GOOD, FOR A WHOLE LOT LESS MONEY . ITS WONDERFUL TO LOOK AT TOO.

I went and bought it from Music 123 after it was delivered I tuned it up played it for about 3 minutes and put it away. I ordered a Gibson vintage bone saddle and bone bridge pins from Bob Colisi and in 5 days got then in the mail. I fitted the saddle and pins in the Hummingbird and the bone pins with new Exlir lights. WoW what a change! You can get real deep bass great mids and highs. This is a great acoustic with the upgrades it came with a nice low action and I kept it the same if your thinking about a Hummingbird get it but you can improve the sound 100% with a little extra money and it is worth it.
