Brutal Metal
Comments about Epiphone Goth 1958 Explorer Electric Guitar:
This is a brutal guitar to play brutal metal. Think Hetfield and the guys from Dethklok. But alas, no EMGs. I think it is one of the better made Epiphones. Clean, well-balanced and easy to play. The neck is wide, and looks cool without the face markers. Relatively light for the size. Again, everything is top-notch but why no EMGs?

Well metal
Comments about Epiphone Goth 1958 Explorer Electric Guitar:
With the exception of the name on the headstock, there is (in my opinion) no need to choose a Gibson over this. It's a very light guitar with a very heavy sound and it looks ace as well. The shape, the first thing that draws you to it, is as perfect as always and the matte paintjob gives it a lot of character. Add to that the 12th fret inlay and you've got a really nice looking guitar. For playability, this is one of the better guitars I've used. The neck is nice and thin and the scale is just perfect for me; you can move around so quickly on the fretboard. Also it didn't give me trouble when tuning it to B and the sound that comes out of it (dependant of course on amp settings) is fantastic. As far as I'm concerned, if you're a fan of the Explorer but can't afford the Gibson, look no further - the value for money is amazning.
