No Regrets

By John-kmpLi

Comments about Epiphone Emperor Regent Electric Guitar:

I ordered it, received it, tuned it and started my gig and was amazed. It's simply a great action and sounding axe. Smooth action, with no gliches, and tonality (acoustically) is great on its own (w/o amp). Amplified it's superb. Had lost an Emperor a couple of years ago and used other guitars that should have been suitable but were'nt. Glad to be back on the Regent. Can'nt beat it for the price either.

It's a REAL guitar

By Phillip Marcus

from poway, California

Comments about Epiphone Emperor Regent Electric Guitar:

If you're a serious jazzer, this is the best deal around. The Emperor has the classic jazz tone that's perfect for jazz big band, combo, or solo. I perform professionally with 2 big bands in San Diego and with my own trio, and it's the only guitar I want to play. I also own the Joe Pass model, but this one beats all, and now I never play anything else. I will admit that like other reviewers, the pickup is a bit on the bright side, but using a little patience and experience, you can get it to settle right down and in the groove. The look of it is just beautiful, and it confers instant respect from colleagues every time I take it out of the case, and they haven't even heard it yet! Once they do, it's a done deal - you've got the gig. In their words: "It's a REAL guitar".

It'll be your favorite too

By road runner

Comments about Epiphone Emperor Regent Electric Guitar:

I've had this for three years and I still love to play it. I gave away my Epiphone Les Paul Deluxe and use this one for electric work. The finish is still flawless and i's easy to play. It stays in tune for a whole performance. I use Thomastic Enfield flatwound medium strings but all string combinations make it still sould a little "tinny" unplugged.

like a good pair of boots.

Comments about Epiphone Emperor Regent Electric Guitar:

Ive had this guitar now for about a year, I changed strings a few times and finally settled with some Sadowski flats, their version of light guage but they still come fairly thick and mellow.

A great guitar with classic style

By Al-7QUH6

from Santa Clara, CA

Comments about Epiphone Emperor Regent Electric Guitar:

I have this along with a Joe Pass, and find thatit fits the niche of a 50's acoustic jazz soundthat I like to have. The stock pickup is a bitbright, although not bad at all. I did end upreplacing it with a Benedetto which made thisguitar really come alive. In fact, friends haveremarked that it sounds like a vintage archtopnow. I love it's style, great playability andtone. Any jazz player (in our budget range :-))should add this one to a collection, thatwoody jazz tone will make you play it for hoursat a time.

Great value at unbelievable price

By Al-7QUH6

from Santa Clara, CA

Comments about Epiphone Emperor Regent Electric Guitar:

I got this one instead of a Joe Pass and Samick bigbox I was looking at, and am glad. Has a greatclassic look, yet not overly ornate. Just a simple, elegant, no nonsense look and feel. Acoustic soundis wonderful and a plus, plugged in, it can soundboth woody acoustic, or fat jazz electric. It's aguitar I love to play, and even enjoy just lookingat. At it's street price, it's a bargain for anyonelooking for a decent jazz box.

Outstanding out-of-the-box

By jc (doc)

from Dallas, Texas

Comments about Epiphone Emperor Regent Electric Guitar:

Thank you Music123. You just sent me an Epiphone Emperor Regent.(Blonde) I must say that besides looking like a million dollars not a blemish in sight it sounded incredible as soon as I tuned the strings. I have owned several archtops, but never have I had anything that played so much like a true acoustical guitar. Played through a Fender Acoustasonic Jr, it sings, sweet and mellow. Easy to play, easy to keep in tune and beautiful to look at. Epiphone has done it again. It has made a great guitar affordable to us all.

GREAT GUITAR

By VINCENT-uGZJz

from redwood city calif

Comments about Epiphone Emperor Regent Electric Guitar:

As stated in my earlier post,I returned one in a natural finish because it did not look good. I just received one from Music 123 in the antique sunburst and I have to say that this guitar is flawless in quality. Beautiful wood, beautiful finish, and very straight neck. I can't say one bad thing about this Epiphone Emperor Regent. Music 123 also gave me a a great price on it.You are not going to find a better archtop guitar in this price range.
