Gibson's famous jumbo design with electronics and a cutaway!

The Epiphone EJ-200CE Acoustic-Electric Guitar is Epiphone's version of the Gibson classic, the guitar you've seen in the hands of everyone from Elvis to Emmylou. Jumbo maple body with a select spruce top, mustache bridge, gold hardware, and crown inlays on the fingerboard. Beautiful to behold, it has huge sound that you can easily amplify via the electronics.

The eSonic2 preamp
The eSonic2 preamp with built-in tuner features studio-quality fidelity, premiere dynamics, and greatly increased harmonic content, resulting in uncompromising acoustic guitar realism. The preamp is equipped with a very accurate chromatic tuner. When the tuner button is activated, the tuner, there will be no output signal from the guitar. The tuner button can also be used as a mute function. By activating the tuner, you can avoid the loud pops when plugging in.

Revolutionary Stereo Pickups!
Under the EJ-200CE's compensated saddle, is Shadow’s proprietary NanoFlex™, low-impedance pickup. Unlike a piezo, the unique flexible sensing material features integrated active electronics that not only picks string vibration but also top and body vibrations as well for a truly acoustic tone without the harshness of piezos. Complimenting the NanoFlex is the revolutionary NanoMag™ pickup mounted at the harmonic-rich end of the fingerboard. Exclusively from Shadow, the NanoMag features 3 Samarian-Cobalt magnets and an integrated active circuit to capture all the highs and lows, including a wide range of harmonics. With your choice of either 1/4" mono output blending both pickups or 1/4" stereo output splitting the two pickups, you have incredible flexibility and opportunities to create the perfect acoustic tone live!

Comments about Epiphone EJ-200CE Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This guitar has a nice feel and makes me want to play it which will increase my skill. The high quality and craftmanship are evident in its look, feel and sound. It is also quite attractive and looks great hanging on the wall with other musical instruments I have collected from around the world. Although I will use it initially as an acoustic guitar it is nice to know it can also be used with an amplifier.

Comments about Epiphone EJ-200CE Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This guitar is amazing, from the rich tones to the styling. It sounds incredable plugged in and blows my mind that its inexpensive...Though I had buzzing when I first bought it, it cleared up with new stings and a weeks worth of playing...I just couldn't put it down.

    Great Guitar, Great Sound

    By Jim Haney

    from Chaffee, Mo

Comments about Epiphone EJ-200CE Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This is a great looking, great sounding and great playing guitar. I play in the Church band and love this guitar. It is so easy to play, the action is very light with no buzzing of the strings with only light pressure applied. It works great with a capo, no detuning that I can detect. It's looks is just stunning, everyone that sees it remarks on what a good looking and good sounding guitar it is. The built in tuner is outstanding, you can check your tune anytime anywhere. However, I have found that it holds tune very well, even when being transported to and from the Church or other venues. The electronics are faultless and work great. I don't amplify mine, our small Church just the sound of the guitar alone is awesome. Bottom line, I love it and you will to, buy it you won't be dissapointed.

    Jumbo Joy

    By Dan Barregarye

    from Hilliard, Ohio

Comments about Epiphone EJ-200CE Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

The EJ-200CE dominates the foreign made acoustic guitar market! The EJ-200CE is a well made, AFFORDABLE acoustic electric. I bought this guitar because I was low on cash and needed an acoustic for my next performance. I have not been disappointed since the day I bought it. The guitar is very versatile, it can be used to record in a studio, and also be used in a live performance. It provides a large open tone due to the jumbo and the piezo pick-up (Once adjusted to the neck) provides a clear feed with very little fret buzz. Over several years I have had the chance and the money to buy several higher end guitars, such as Martin's and Taylor's, and even the Gibson jumbo, which this is based off of, and I am here to tell you that this guitar has surpassed each one in tone and affordability. The tone on the Epiphone jumbo was warmer, clearer and more distinguished than its Gibson Brother. This is truly the harmonic soloist chosen Ax. The EJ-200CE holds its ground with three key features. A phenomenal tone, the bang for the buck, and the stunning features and looks of this guitar. It truly was created to suit the modern musicians needs of a great guitar, and the want of saving money!!

    Well-worth the back-order wait!

    By Gary Beckwith

    from Yokosuka, Japan

Comments about Epiphone EJ-200CE Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

High demand guitar. All retailers are seemingly perpetually out of stock (took seven months for mine to arrive) and now I know why. I've played dozens of acoustics over the years and this is by far the best for the money. I bought it as a "beater" to keep from carrying my Martin D-28 to small venues where it was subject to user/customer/guest abuse and now I prefer the Epi over the Martin. Action is low and fast, neck is narrow (just right for my "average"-sized fingers) and the thing is factory-set up (actual settings included with documentation) and ready to play right out of the box. And talk about light! I couldn't believe there was a guitar in the box when I received it.On the down side, I expected more sound from the jumbo body unplugged. Doesn't project real well and doesn't have the bottom end associated with jumbo bodies. Of course a heavier string may cure that. The EQ module is not a real tight fit in the body and the stick-on internal wire retainer wasn't stuck when I got it (and still isn't). The EQ is placed right in the body bend which equates to the square peg in a round hole. Moving it another inch or so towards the neck wouldn't hurt anything. The installed strings were not to my taste so I re-strung with Martin bronze lights. It's winter here in Japan as I write this and I've found that I have to allow for about two hours of warm-up time when going from outdoors to indoors to avoid continual tuning. Don't expect the Gibson fittings, either. I was a bit disappointed in the plastic bridge but it does the job well. The first re-stringing was a bit of a time because until the strings are seated properly the pegs will pull out so be patient. The up side is that pushed through my Fender acoustic amp it sounds fantastic! Better than I had hoped. The EQ is so tight that I just set the amp EQ to mid-range and work the rest from the guitar. Fixing the down-side issues would give this guitar a definite 5-star rating. The sound, however, is what we look for and this guitar has it.Bottom line: I highly recommend this beautiful instrument to beginner or pro. This one's a keeper!

    By Scott Beynon

    from Castro Valley, CA USA

Comments about Epiphone EJ-200CE Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This guitar exceeded my expectations. While its look is striking, it's the deep, clear tone that makes it a joy to play and listen to. I was pleasntly surpised to find that it's equipped with Grover tuning pegs. Don't hesitate to purchase the matching case...it's a high quality piece for a very reasonable price.Thank you Music123 (and our sales rep Tim) for providing great service, price, and quality. This guitar has inspired me to find acoustic music again.
