Comments about Epiphone 1984 Explorer EX Electric Guitar:
First off let me start with a disclaimer, I really love this guitar.....now. When the package arrived the box was beat really bad but the actual guitar was inside another box and the guitar was awesome. So thank you 123 for packing the product so well. Out of the box the guitar was set up fairly well. Action was fairly low and played relatively good. My biggest problem was the fret board, there was glue build up all over the last fret and the board was so dry that there was actual spots where the wood was raised a bit. After the initial look over I immediately cut the strings off and began to clean and lightly sand the fret board. After a couple hours of work and some lemon oil, the board was smooth and ready for action. I went ahead and adjusted the neck and the pickup heights since I had her torn apart. Once everything was together and set up, this guitar just flat out rocks. I will say that you should not be dissuaded by my comments, just about every guitar I have ever purchased from 123 needs a good set-up. Guitar players have different ways they like there set ups, so this is really a no brainer. Also please, please, please, change your strings before you play. This guitar is well made, and really rocks the riffs. I would recommend this to anyone!!!
