Improved and refined replica of Red Special.
The Brian May Signature Electric Guitar features an acoustically chambered mahogany body, a dual truss rod mahogany neck, and ebony fingerboard. The pickups are Tri-Sonics that Brian sealed in Araldite adhesive to prevent microphonic feedback inherent with metal covered pickups. These are controlled by the original Brian May switching system with individual on/off and phase switches, one volume and one tone pot.
The Brian May guitar is faithful to the spirit of Brian's original 'Red Special', an instrument that has achieved iconic status and a unique place in rock history, and designed by Brian May himself. The Brian May Special is a stunning guitar, blessed with superb build quality, awesome playability and an astonishingly rich diversity of killer tones. In fact, it delivers everything you'd expect from an instrument built to the exacting standards of one of the world's greatest guitarists but, in keeping with Brian's vision of a "guitar for the people", with an amazingly affordable price-tag that belies its superior appointments and performance.
Without question one of the most eagerly anticipated instruments of the century. The original BMG replica was originally launched in winter 2001 to rapturous critical and public acclaim. UK Guitarist magazine hailed it as "Best Guitar of The Year" and theater audiences around the globe thrilled to the guitar's sound in performance in the Queen musical "We Will Rock You."
But the story certainly didn't end there. Brian, his long-standing guitar technician Pete Malandrone, and Barry Moorehouse of House Music have significantly improved upon the guitar's overall construction as well as refining the bridge assembly, electronics, finishing and color choices. Simply put, one of the finest artist-designed production guitars is now even better.

Comments about Brian May Guitars Brian May Signature Electric Guitar:
The Red Special is my dream guitar, but I'm not willing to settle for poor crafsmanship. While the electronics are all great in this replica, it's the minor details that turned me off of this model. I returned 2 of them because of flaws in the body. The first I received had bumps under the finish, like dust or dirt was on the body when they coated it. The second had like a groove dent in the body near the neck. I thought the whole guitar just hasd a feel of cheapness to it, especially for the money. I would rather buy the pick-ups and pedals to give me the sound and use them with a solidly built guitar. I've seen better quality guitars come out of Korea for a lot less money. Brian really needs to look into the quality control, because his name is on every guitar. I would gladly pay more for a better product.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Awesome Guitar
Comments about Brian May Guitars Brian May Signature Electric Guitar:
I loved the original Guild model, but it was a small fortune to buy one. This was in my price range and the quality for the money is amazing. I love the versatility of the pickups with the phase switches. You can get so many wicked sounds with this guitar. I'd recommend this guitar to anyone wanting good quality for under a grand.

Great Value, Great Sound
Comments about Brian May Guitars Brian May Signature Electric Guitar:
The Brian May signature guitar puts the unique tone and sound of the Queen guitarist within the reach of mere mortals. This guitar has some great things going for it, The three burns tri-sonic pickups have a unique switching arrangement that allows fo thirteen different sound settings available at the flick of a switch. it looks great and due to the cutaway style of the guitars body you have really easy access right up to the 24th fret. on the downside, it is a very large and heavy guitar which may be unsuitable for younger players. i have used mine as my main guitar for about three years and it is starting to show some wear and tear, although nothing that a basic knowledge of guitar maintenence can't fix. overall, this is a great quality guitar that easily competes with high end gibsons and fenders in terms of sound.

Incredible!!!
Comments about Brian May Guitars Brian May Signature Electric Guitar:
Alright, so I'm a huge Queen fan, so when I was looking around and found this, I had to have it. This guitar is truly amazing. It's incredibly unique. You won't find another guitar with so many different sounds and especially not at this price. The switching is awesome! so many combinations!! It doesn't come with instructions on working the in/out phase switching, but it's not hard to work out. My advice: Buy This!!! You won't be disappointed! O and it's a really beautiful guitar...GREAT finish and you can't go worng with the antique cherry. Beautiful look and sound!
