the best guitar for the price

Comments about B.C. Rich Mockingbird Special Electric Guitar:

I got this guitar 3 months ago. since it came out of the box it was ready to play. I think this guitar is very versatile i play everything from jeff beck to slipnot/pantera, and i think this guitar can do it all pretty good. it has a warm and clear tone, you can hear every string when you play it . it doesn't matter how dirty the distortion is. the neck its smooth and fast. it saids that has a "chunky" neck but i didn't find it chunky at all, its thinner than my lp. the reason i didn't give this guitar 5 stars is because the access to the 21,22 frets its hard, you can get to them but it takes a little adjustments. over all i think this guitar its well worth the money.

It all depends

Comments about B.C. Rich Mockingbird Special Electric Guitar:

This guitar is awesome for metal and most rock styles, but it is lacking in tonal quality for jazz and other alternative styles. It all depends on what you like. I love this guitar but i always find myself going back to my good old mexican strat. I can get pretty much any tone out of my strat but with this guitar i am only satisfied with the heavy sounds that can be pulled out of it. So if all you wanna do is run through a metal zone and chug away than buy this guitar. But if you want a more diverse guitar than buy a strat or something like that. Also, the way this guitar is shaped, it is difficult to hit the higher frets on the neck because of its arm.

Really Special

By Dr. Gonzo

from Minnesota

Comments about B.C. Rich Mockingbird Special Electric Guitar:

25 years ago the BC Rich Mockingbird was considered a very radical design, and was only available as a high quality, hand made, very expensive guitar. Now the Mock is the least radical of the non-SLO (Strat-Like Object) models in the lineup, and has achieved classic status. The Mockingbird Special is every bit as high quality as those early models, yet costs a fraction of it's predecessors. My white Special needed only a slight neck tweak to be perfectly setup and playing like a dream. The Rockfield SWV pickups are classic in their own rights, delivering a warm, round tone that is perfect for pushing tube amps into overdrive without being overly aggressive. Think slightly overwound PAF's. The finish is flawless and a real head turner, pictures don't come close to doing it justice. In short, this Mockingbird is indeed Special, yet still well within reach for the weekend warriors out there.
