The American Badwater SRO is the Axl version of a true American classic. The Seymour Duncan Five-Two pickups on the AS-1120 Badwater Pro model are a unique mix of Alnico 2 magnets on the treble strings for warmth and a softer attack, and Alnico 5 magnets on the bass strings for punch and brightness. Axl's "Super-7 switching" utilizes a push-pull pot to engage the bridge pickup regardless of switch position - adding two more pickup combinations for even more versatile tone shaping. CTS pots are connected by cloth-covered wire, and Orange Drop capacitors give a creamy, classic tone. A true-vintage-style bent-saddle bridge and TonePros Kluson tuning machines have the proper weight and sound just like the instruments from the 1950s. Every fret is hand pressed with some of the highest quality fretwire available; then leveled and dressed for flawless playing in any register. Combine all of those parts with a solid alder body and maple neck with a rosewood fretboard, a Graphtech Tusq nut, and a finish unlike any other available for a distictive tone platform.
