I bought this guitar on a whim for travel. I've heard lots of good things about Ovation/Applause so I thought, what the heck, I'll give it a try. The guitar is well made, which is why I gave it 4 stars. Again, I bought it for travel, and it serves that purpose well, but this guitar would also make a good beginner's guitar, since it is 3/4 size. My only problem is the sound, which is very plastic to me. Again, I bought this on a whim based on reputation. If you are interested in Ovation/Applause guitars, do yourself a favor and go to your local guitar shop and try one out first. The sound might not be what you'd expect. I'll be selling this one. Just what I was looking for. I currently own a Applause that was purchased in 1979 so I felt that this would be a quality product and it is. I was wanting something a little smaller to play because sometimes my full size Applause would seem a little too big. This fit the bill. I'm very pleased with the appearance and the action is good. You can also adjust the action by removing/adding the shims under the bridge or adjusting the truss rod in the neck. I love my new Applause!

This guitar has been a great learning guitar for younger kids. It is small enough to manage for younger children, and best of all it stays in tune.

My wife thought I ordered a toy but when she heard it she thought it sounded nice. Out of the box the guitar sounded pretty good keeping in mind how much it cost and its size and intended purpose. Change the strings to the much better DAddario EJ26, Im accustomed to, made it sound better. Changing the soft plastic bridge, that already had nicks in it from the strings to a bone bridge, made it sound even better yet.

I got this about five years ago while I was looking for a Martin backpacker sized to take canoeing. The store I was in didn't carry the Martin but they showed me this 3/4 Ovation, called an Applause. When I did a little singing to some Peter, Paul and Mary picking, the guitar box sang back to me, like it was talking my language. I took it, and have employed it and enjoyed it ever since.

This is an absolutely great guitar for travelers, beginners, and pros that want a smaller, more comfortable neck without sacrificing sound. It is built with sturdiness and looks beautiful. Definitely and Ovation known feature! I got the ruby red color and it's far more beautiful than the picture which looks like Indian clay. The actual color is a deep rose red. Overall, I am extremely pleased. The sound is clean with plenty volume, knocking down those $300 YAMAHAS in several aspects.

I purchased this guitar not ever having seen or heard a 3/4 size guitar. I have smaller hands so after years of playing full size guitars I decided to try a 3/4 size...besides, I figure the smaller size would fit better in my car when I travel. I am very pleased with this guitar. It fits my smaller hands perfectly...and the sound is surprisingly big for a small guitar. I'm not a professional so I just needed something that I could play easier and that sounded good. This guitar fits the bill perfectly.

I got this guitar a couple of years ago, and it plays great and it looks nice. I really like the round back. I would highly recommend it. The only thing I don't like, which is my own fault, was that I bought the small one, so it's kind of hard to play some stuff.
