Comments about Levy's 2.5" Suede Guitar Strap:
I was hunting for something that looked unique when I began my strap search for my Epiphone Les Paul. It's a flametop sunburst, with black pickguard, and I had my heart set on looking for something that was orange (or thereabouts) and was suede. I initially did not plan on getting a strap with a pattern on it, but was hard pressed to find anything that really stood out. I then came across the butterfly patterened strap here. The material colour, though not exactly what I had in mind initially, did appeal to me, and I thought it would be a good match for my guitar. Usually I tend to buy plain stuff, and am quite conservative with my pattern choices (if I were put in a position where I had to choose one). This time, though, something about the pattern clicked, and I decided to buy it. I don't regret it. It looks absolutely great, and is very very comfortable. I have it at the third longest setting, and still find the guitar sitting a little lower than my ideal position, so I will probably change the position up by another inch. The initial application of my strap locks (schaller) was a little difficult, as fastening the nut behind the washer to hold the strap required a bit of squeezing, but once they were on, it was a piece of cake! (I covered the nut with a piece of cloth and used a pair of pliers to tighten it, so as not to ruin the finish on the strap locks). The one downside to this strap is that, it produces a lot of residual flakes when you're adjusting the strap length, and it can get quite messy quite quickly. It's not a real downside, but just warning you guys about it, so you know to keep your guitar away from the strap when you're adjusting it. You don't want those orange flakes peppering your precious axe!
