Cons

Comments about Rogue Jersey Lightning Lap Steel Guitar:

I just got this Rogue Jersey lap steel by UPS, fast and free shipping, thank you very much !

Because I bought a used one I was expecting a kinda bit-up instrument, but nothing wrong with it.
Also I was afraid the humbucker pickup would be a bit noisey or humming, but it doesn't make any noise, only good sound. (I think the pickup cover metal plate helps shielding.)
Thank you Music123, I would buy some other product from you in the future.

Comments about Rogue Jersey Lightning Lap Steel Guitar:

I already bought the Peavy lap steel and it had terrible intonation problems that I had to fix by moving the nut up about half an inch. I was worried I might have to do surgery on the Jersey lap steel as well. I did not, the intonation is spot on. I immediately took off the standard strings on put on a set of E9 strings. Sweet. Now I can play classic country. The only thing I find annoying is that I often hit the volume knob while playing. But aside from that this is a killer axe for the money. I seriously recommend you spring for a quality tone bar, do not buy a cheap one on[@]. I would buy this over the Peavy unless you are committed to hacking the Peavy. This is a great value. To improve on the Jersey you'll have to spend up to 10 times as much on a vintage or boutique instrument.

Pretty Good Lapsteel, Fun To Play

      By GrandUncleD

      from Undisclosed

Comments about Rogue Jersey Lightning Lap Steel Guitar:

First the cons. The strings that came with the instrument aren't the best quality, and there was a suspect lead grey residue that came off of them (I have faith it wasn't lead, mind you the instument was made in China). Also, the tone knob was very loose on its post. These flaws, however, were fixable with a new set of strings and some glue.

The above stated issues aside, the lapsteel arrived in otherwise mint condition, with gig bag and cable and some picks, and the pros definitely outweigh the cons - this is a very good lapsteel for the cost. The instrument looks cool, what with the funky red perloid finish, chrome hardware, and neat looking symbols on the fretboard. The weight and balance are as close to perfect as I care. The tone and resonance of the sound from the lapsteel is outstanding, great for blues and country playing. The chrome hand rest/pick up cover is a nice touch, and can be easily removed if not needed.

Overall, this lapsteel gets 4 out of 5 stars ****

      Great Buy for the money

      By Big D-MG0M1

Comments about Rogue Jersey Lightning Lap Steel Guitar:

I own one of these in White and it is extremely resonate. I only dislike one thing about this lap and that is the strings on it are junk, so if you plan on buying one plan on also buying new strings for it too and start with replacing them. I like Gretsch flatwounds in 12-52 size or D'Addario XL Chromes flatwound in 13-56 size Bolth strings sound great and play great. I play a show every week with a Rickenbacker Deluxe Hawaiian Lap and now I also play showes with this Rogue Jersey Lighthing Lap. The weight of this Rogue is a big plus it is very light and the gig bag is a nice touch. Don't forget if you buy the Rogue Jersey buy strings at the same time trust me if you play a lap you won't like them.

      Valco Vibes!

      By Alex-kW8Fb

      from Houston

Comments about Rogue Jersey Lightning Lap Steel Guitar:

So this it based on a vintage Valco style lap steel and has a really nice plastic like finish and felt padding on the bottom - string thru design with gotoh like tuners and a decent humbucker pickup - circuitry is basic tone and volume but is wired like old lap steels so the volume retains highs when rolled off and tone is interactive with volume - action similar to a dobro and the large coverplate is nice since I prefer blockiing with the left hand - sounds full range through a deluxe reverb tube amp with fat lows and a nice bright top end :-) Nice heavily padded gig bag too.
