Takes a light touch

By Lee-hlMN4

Comments about Rogue 6-String Banjo:

Sounds good if you play it within it's limitations. I changed to high quality light strings and used a .009 on the sixth string with a .024 on the fifth. I tuned the first and sixth together (both high E). It sounds more banjo-ey. I cranked the tailpiece down almost touching the head. Place the bridge about half way between the tailpiece and the 12th fret, then move it until your tuner shows true on each string at both the nut and at the twelfth fret. Hold the neck lightly when playing because it's easy to flex the neck- to- shell joint and go out of tune. When you relax, it goes back into tune. Use nickle-silver finger and thumb picks to get a pretty authentic sound.

QIUTE Satisfied

Comments about Rogue 6-String Banjo:

Placed the bridge and tuned-up. Action was great with no truss-rod adjustment needed. Surprised with the sound/tone--very pleasantly surprised! This instrument sounds super. I can strum it like a guitar and it certainly adds a dimension. It can "blend in" or it can "take charge". The appearance is excellent and the finish on the wood is really spectacular. Well worth the $$.

Sounds like a Banjo

By Ira Kay

from Undisclosed

Comments about Rogue 6-String Banjo:

Received the Rogue 6 string Banjo last week. No horror stories, just placed the bridge and tuned it up ... Sounds like a banjo ... as expected the 5 th and 6 th string don't really sould "banjo" like expecially at the bass end of the fret board. No loose parts, even the set on the neck was OK, didn't even need to adjust the truss rod. It might not sound just like a 1000 plus Derring, but now I play the Banjo ... A little light, but it's a nice looking instrument ... It's amazing how a song I usually play on an electric sould like a Banjo piece on the Rogue ... I'm ordering a case, some lighter acoustic strings, and a strap, it's a keeper! Ira Kay
