this is great for the price. its a little bit on the quiet side, but thats what the pick-up system is for.

I would not recommend this for anyone. I have since upgraded to a KoAloha but I have played Lanikai acoustic/electric ukes priced the same that sounded twice as good. I am disappointed that I wasted money on this ukulele. As an electric ukulele there is too much treble but it is not so bad. It has awful intonation, when it seems in tune with one chord the next chord will sound out of tune. It never sounds in tune totally. If you are going to waste money on an oscar schmidt at least get a solid wood body to get good volume instead of a "dead" sound.

I'm a big fan of complex/layered studio recordings, and with this ukulele you can throw several effects on top of one another and put a mic up. This gives you the ability to get clean sounds with soft yelps of distortion.

The Oscar Schmidt OU2E Soprano Ukulele with Active Pickup System is an excellent instrument. It has a solid feel to it, and a rich tonal quality. The pick up system works great. No feedback, and it delivers clear amplified sound. Initially, several tunings have to be made until the strings stretches fully. The price is very reasonable for its quality.
