I got this uke for my mom, who has been fooling around on the ukulele since before I was born but never mastered the instrument. All this time she's been making do with an old ukulele she found in a pawn shop in the 1950's, and I thought it was time she had a decent instrument.
This uke is of surprisingly good quality. It looks great, the tone is good, and the geared tuning machines are far superior to the straight-through posts on her other uke. Now tuning is a lot easier. She was amazed at what a nice uke it was and has been practicing more than ever before.

Not everyone is comfortable with a brightly coloured Mahalo. The U-50G offers an option of looking good with whatever colour you are wearing or the occassion. No question about it, it will also sound and play as well as you can make it . There are some times when you do not want to take a more expensive instrument, but you still want one with good intonation and some volume. The whole line is great as that Grab 'n' Go uke. Different strings really make it sound better. Experiment with a low g or a high G string to see which you prefer. At this price....get two and tune one each way!
