Comments about Mahalo U-30 Painted Soprano Ukulele:
Looks and feel pretty well built. will be putting good strings on, but that is to be expected for the price.
My grandaughter is hopefully going to learn to play. She thought it was a very pretty pink. I think it is good enought quality for a beginner to start on.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Cons
Best Uses
- Practicing
Comments about Mahalo U-30 Painted Soprano Ukulele:
Again,M123 is a great company who was caught in a bind because the factory ceased production, When they began producing and shipping, the quality had dropped significantly in the final finish large sections were of body and neck were just overspray. Several different colours of ukuleles had not be wiped with a tack rag, they were just shot with paint over sawdust chips. The entire two dozen were to go to an elementary school where finish was notgoing to matter. Had they been for an adult market, they would have been returned.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Mahalo u-30 Green
Comments about Mahalo U-30 Painted Soprano Ukulele:
Of the 25 U-30 ukuleles I have bought, these are the first which have been less than Fantastic. All three of them have paint rubbed off at the 12th fret on the G side of the neck. It is a pronounced mark. They also have the poorest paint job I have seen of any colour. Someone did not wipe off the dust from any of the three. one has divots on the back where someone did not use wood filler before the final coat of paint. These three have not been the typical well done finish coat I have come to expect from Mahalo.

Mahalo might mean Thank You in Hawaiian
Comments about Mahalo U-30 Painted Soprano Ukulele:
I bought two of these this month and intend to get two more in July, one with sparkles. The first one sounded wonderful out of the box, untuned and even better with ear tuning. This was the green one. The second arrived a week later and wants to be in a minor key. One of the strings was dead in a way no tuning would help, but that is to be expected and I changed the strings yesterday, to a tenor set, just for the fun of it. It sounds nice now. This was the yellow one.
I originally wanted these to create original sound effects for home videos, but impulsively bought learn to play books and looked up tuning instructions. Who knows where this may lead me! I am having great fun and my on line chat friends are now taking dusty instruments out of their closets and practicing. Who knew?

Comments about Mahalo U-30 Painted Soprano Ukulele:
I bought one a few weeks ago and have been having so much fun playing it I bought another. I like the tuners on the back look like little dolphins. I got the yellow color first and the shade looks just like the picture, when I got the light blue one though, the color wasn't the same as the picture, it's more a light baby blue.

Mahalo Painted Ukulele
Comments about Mahalo U-30 Painted Soprano Ukulele:
What do you not expect for a cheap uke? Good fit, finish, strings, tuners, and good sound.
Four out of Five is fantastic for this price. A set of Aquila strings makes it a serious playing soprano! I have two which are six years old and they still stay in tune up the neck. The light coloured ones make a nice platform for paint or permanent marker D.I.Y. bling.
It is an inexpensive way to have a low G ;a reentrant G; a low G- low A cuatro tuning all in one hand with improved strings for a great price.
