best mandolin at this price range

Comments about Kentucky Artist KM-254 A-Model Mandolin:

I bought this mandolin based on the Kentucky brand. I did try the KM-150 but it seems too frafile for me, so I bough the KM-254 instead. It is very well built, sounds warm and loud (actually too loud for my ears compared to other mandolins I own and play everyday).
Perfect mandolin for bluegrass type music.
Can't find anything wrong with this mandolin, except for keeping to defend its color when my friends say it's black. It's really dard brown in day light.

Looks and sounds great

Comments about Kentucky Artist KM-254 A-Model Mandolin:

The key to this or any mandolin is to make sure it's properly set up. Mine was and it is a pleasure to play. The solid wood has a nice ring and the action is adjustable to your liking. The color is incredible. I thought it was black when it came out of the case but it's a deep burgundy and the inlays are beautiful. Looks and feels very expensive. So far holds the tuning well and am pleased with the detail of the finish (binding, bridge, tail piece, neck, head, body etc.) all well done. Top of the line for it's price range.
