About Hohner:
Hohner is a family company founded in 1857 in Trossingen, Germany by Matthias Hohner. Hand-made quality and close attention to detail has set Hohner apart from the beginning. A top leading brand in harmonicas, Hohner harps are distributed worldwide. Hohner harmonicas are played on the street by buskers, in intimate nightclubs, on festival stages, and even in Carnegie Hall. Despite a diverse harmonica line used in music from country to classical genres, the most famous Hohner harmonicas are their simple, 10-hole diatonics used frequently by blues, rock, country, and folk musicians.

Comments about Hohner Blues Band Seven-Piece Harmonica Set 1501:

This is the third set I have bought over past several years and the worst quality. On this set, the G harp has two blow notes that won't even play, the C harp has one, even after disassembly, cleaning, and ensuring the reeds weren't stuck. The lowest draw reed on both of these harps just makes a dull noise, no musical tone at all. Very low quality control at the factory.
To make it worse, the two harps with problems are the ones I use the most.
I went back to an old set that still play fine. I had originally stopped playing them because after a few months, the synthetic fibers on the crushed velvet like lining of the case separate and get inside the harps, and subsequently into my lungs when I play deep draw notes. That crud is not healthy, because being synthetic, your body doesn't clear it easily, not to mention the embarrassment of a coughing attack on stage. I do note the case lining issue is probably not unique to Hohner, and I purchased this set fully aware of that problem. I'll get around to getting a leather case one of these days. As far as this current set, they would be well worth the price, if the factory simply ensured each one played on all notes before distributing, and addressed the case lining issue.
Not sure it's worth my hassle shipping these back for exchange and getting another set with sililar issues. I'll just pick up a couple of quality harps to replace those that don't work, and chalk it up to experience. On the plus side I have a new case and five harps that do work.

Comments about Hohner Blues Band Seven-Piece Harmonica Set 1501:

This set of harmonicas gives you seven different keys to play in for a low price but the quality was a little less than I expected from a large company like Hohner.
