Fender FB-59 banjo

By Uncle Poppy

from South Bend,IN

Comments about Fender FB59 Banjo:

You'll need a wheelbarrow to tote this one around at the festivals! It's heavy as heck but has volume and tone to match. Very good intonation and needed only slight tweaking to get in good playing shape (mine came with a 5th string buzz that was easily eliminated). My wife wants me to upgrade but frankly I don't see why I would need to!

Fender FB-59, a very good banjo

By Fred Hissink

from The Netherlands

Comments about Fender FB59 Banjo:

I bought a FB-59 nine months ago and I'm very pleased with it. I needed a better sound and playability without killing my piggybank. The FB-59 will give you a lot for the money! It has a bell brass tone ring which produces a bright tone. I removed the original bridge and placed a Mystery wood bridge which gave me a volume increase of about 40%. If you want to hear the sound, please look for me on Youtube. With kind regards,

great for the price

By terry mills

Comments about Fender FB59 Banjo:

My banjo was well put together, tone ring mount to rim fit great, neck to the body fit great, no complaints. Tightened head and changed bridge to farquar but bridge that was stock sounded good. I think this banjo will be as good as I will ever need and I really like the workmanship in it. The action is really good too, this banjo has a good tone, very sweet with enough volume for most situations. try one, I don't think the banjo will disappoint for the price.

good

Comments about Fender FB59 Banjo:

Has great volume and tone. The finish is spectacular. A truly beautiful banjo. My banjo teacher, who also plays in one of the most famous bluegrass bands out there, says it sounds as good as his Gibson "Earl Scruggs." Now for the only complaint. On my banjo, more time should have been taken fitting the neck to the pot. I had to shim it to get rid of the movement caused by the combination of a poorly fitted neck and a very heavy banjo. This being said, it easily competes with, or exceeds any banjo I've tried.

Comments about Fender FB59 Banjo:

This is the second Fender banjo that I have had the pleaser of owning. I love the clear crisp tone, even with the clear head that I installed to really show off the gold tone ring, five stars!

I really enjoyed this banjo. It's a totally different animal than the other Fenders. Excellent quality. A lot of banjo for the price. I would recommend this to anyone.

Excellent Tone - Excellent Banjo

By -zengotsu-

from Missoula, MT USA

Comments about Fender FB59 Banjo:

The Fender 59 is a great banjo for me, both on stage and in the studio. I own many banjos and usually have to use one in the stage show and another in the studio. This Fender is now the one I use for both. It looks great. Great neck and the tone ring is very heavy, the heaviest that I've ever picked up. Most banjo players use the weight of a banjo as somewhat of a guide to quality, among other attributes. Thanks for a great banjo!

I just purchased one of these a couple of days ago and like it!

By harleyman

from elkton va.

Comments about Fender FB59 Banjo:

I purchased the fb59 Oct the first 2003 and so far I am really pleased with it. I have an earl scruggs mastertone and a rb100 Gibson and an aria ppro 2. This fb59 out performs all them as far as loudness and the crisp sound and chords, true anywhere on the neck. I've also owned Alvarez and Washburn banjoes but haven't had one better than this fb59. Its definitely a thumbs up!
