Best Value

Comments about Fender FB-54 5-String Banjo:

I chose this banjo because it has a solid mahogany neck and attachment rings for a banjo strap. It also has a geared fifth string tuner. (to correct a previous reviewer) I would recommend this Banjo to anyone looking for a quality instrument at a good price.

Comments about Fender FB-54 5-String Banjo:

This particular model is a fraction more difficult to change chords on. However it is a good instrument at an incredible price.

Nice beginner's banjo!

By Dean-k2HmL

Comments about Fender FB-54 5-String Banjo:

First, let me say I like this banjo a lot. I love to play it, but it took me a while to get this banjo set up properly. Some of the parts weren't adjusted to fit as well as they should at the factory. The head was loose. The 5th string nut was a little too short, causing a buzz on the 5th fret. There was too much action in the neck. I'm just learning, but to me this one sounds pretty good, has nice pop.

This is my first banjo and as a student I am thrilled by this banjo. It's great all around for a beginner, and has a great resonator.

Great overall beginners banjo.

By Ken Colby

from Salem NH USA

Comments about Fender FB-54 5-String Banjo:

Very good beginners banjo. There is only one change that I would make that would still keep the banjo in the right price range. That would be the addition of a geared 5th string tuning peg. The friction peg, like all friction pegs is hard to fine tune. To make that change after the instrument is made becomes somewhat expensive.
