Great deal

Comments about Applause UA10 Standard Ukulele:

I'm very happy with this instrument. Sounds really good and it looks a lot nicer than the picture lets on. It took a week or so for the tuning to settle, but for the money this is a great deal.

Incredible with Aquila strings wth a "Low G" string

By

from Seattle

Comments about Applause UA10 Standard Ukulele:

This is a sweet little Uke. You can make it sound a lot more full by buying a set of Aquila Nygut strings with the wire-wound "Low G" string.

Quality and playability!

By

from Louisville KY area

Comments about Applause UA10 Standard Ukulele:

I got mine a year ago and have never regretted it! The way it is put together is precise and the set up is great! It is one of the easiest soprano ukes to play, due to the low action and precise fretting. I changed to Aquila Nylgut strings, which sound great, but it sounds good even with the stock nylon strings. I rate it 5 stars due to the bang for the buck ratio.

Quality all the way!

Comments about Applause UA10 Standard Ukulele:

As a guitar player with severe nerve damage to my right hand,I decided to try the Applause UA 10 as a way to make "some"kind of music.I didn't expect too much. Boy,was I wrong! This is a real instrument. Quality all the way! Great sweet tone, easy playing, great intonation, nice materials and workmanship and a 5 year warranty! Now I know why the late George Harrison said that "you can't play a uke without smiling".I give this one 5 stars! Fun little instrument!

Those heretics are at it again!

By

from California

Comments about Applause UA10 Standard Ukulele:

Those Ovation folks (who manufacture Applause) are up to their usual skullduggery once more! It wasn't enough that they turned the world of guitars upside-down. A ukulele with a dynamite sound at $120? It's not made in Hawaii? It's not made of koa wood? It has guitar-style pegs? It has a roundback made of synthetic material? Is nothing sacred? Seriously, this is quite an excellent uke for its price. The roundback may slip a bit if you're playing it while standing up. Except for that one shortcoming, it's impressive. I saw a couple of the tenor electro-acoustic versions used by performers at the last Hawaiian May Day festival.

Highly recommend.

By

from Ewa Beach, Hi

Comments about Applause UA10 Standard Ukulele:

I've compared this ukulele to koa ones costing four and five times as much, and this one is as loud or louder than most of them. Granted, it doesn't look as nice as a koa one (actually I like how it looks like a miniature ovation), but if you're going to actually play and listen to it, then this is one nice sounding uke. It is a little harder to play in the upper register (the frets are so close together) but then this is a small uke. It seems to be constructed pretty solidly. I've had mine for about 2 years now and it plays just as nicely as when I first bought it. I've only changed strings once. Great Buy!
