Shure Beta 57A Microphone

By Dewey Leopold

from Lakefield, MN

Comments about Shure Beta 57A Microphone:

This Microphone (Shure Beta 57A Microphone) is the best mic I have ever used. I can't say enough, everyone should try one of these. I have been playing lead guitar for 4o years. I use it to mic my 65 Fender Twin Reverb. It made my guitar sound full and clear and improved my sustain. My only regret is that I did not try this mic sooner. "It is a great Microphone", 150% satisfied !!!!!!!

Microphone for Instruments, Vocals, Speakers, anthing!

By William L. Cronin

from Columbia, SC 29205

Comments about Shure Beta 57A Microphone:

The Shure Beta 57A is an absolutely unmatchable live microphone. The entire beta series by Shure is well known. This particular microphone works well for about anything. Traditionally 57's have been used to mic amps for live use, and this one follows suit. it sounds absolutely amazing when positioned correctly on the cone of a good tube amp. However that is not the limit of the beta 57's capabilities. I actually use one for a vocal microphone. I have been using it for several years now, and won't sing out of anything else. When I show up to play somewhere and there is already a microphone set up, you will hear out of my mounth, "Hey, do you mind if I switch out the mic for one I brought?" Flawless. Built like a tank. You will not regret purchasing this microphone.

Excellent

By SS

Comments about Shure Beta 57A Microphone:

The Beta 57A is, quite simply, a fantastic microphone. I cautiously purchased 2 and now I intend to replace my entire range of SM58's & SM57's with the superb Beta 57A.Great for vocals, no need to get close to the grille due to its sensitivity. I have also used the Beta 57 on Drum Overheads, Snare, Kick & Toms and it just out performs most other mics for application and sound quality. Very neat/contemporary look and great value for money (its worth double the list price!).I cannot recommend this mic highly enough.

What A Sweet Mic!

By Tim-dNSZ.

from South Plainfield, New Jersey, USA

Comments about Shure Beta 57A Microphone:

This mic is so cool! I use it for milking my amplifier and get such amazing sounds. Depending on the placement of the mic, I can get completely different sounds. Sharp attack when in the middle touching the grille, smoother sound when moved merely 2.5" down to the left! You move this the slightest bit and you get totally different sounds. All crystal clear sound and NO FEEDBACK! It's so cool - it gives so many options! I would highly recommend this mic to anyone. For amplifying amps, this microphone CANNOT be beat. It's well worth your money...

Incomparably the Best Instrument Mic

By Tim-dNSZ.

from South Plainfield, New Jersey, USA

Comments about Shure Beta 57A Microphone:

This mic is so cool! And so versatile, too. I've chosen to limit it to just my amplifier, though, so that's what I'll review it on. This mic is amazing. Depending on how you place it in relation to the amp's speaker, you can get so many sounds! Placing it right in the middle of my Marshall's speaker, this mic has bite! But by moving it down a mere 2.5 inches to the right, I was able to isolate a more tempered, smooth sound. And that's only two placements! Pretty much, you get completely different sounds whenever you move this mic around the speaker. Also, it's built like a tank! You could run this thing over with a car and it would still be in "ship-shape"! I love this mic and would recommend it to anyone looking to buy the best.

Best mic for Leslie speakers

By Mike Case

from Northern California

Comments about Shure Beta 57A Microphone:

I use two Beta 57a mics for my Hammond/Leslie speaker. I use one on the left and right of the Leslie's high frequency horns through the Leslie cabinet's louvers. I pan each mic through the left and right stereo channels of the sound system. These Beta 57s mics give me the best and fattest Hammond sound I have heard, especially for outdoor performances. The spatial effect of the panned Beta 57a mics is awesome. I also use an AKG D-112 for the bass rotor in mono through both channels. I get many people that say they haven't heard a Hammond organ like mine in many years. These mics have helped me keep the Hammond/Leslie sound alive and in its well deserved place in music history as the most beloved musical sound of all.

Sweet instrument mic.

By Drummer12345

from Houston, TX., U.S.A.

Comments about Shure Beta 57A Microphone:

If you record or gig, this is a sweet mic. You can mic a bass drum, snare, toms, cymbals, guitar amps, overhead percussion, anything. Shure is the best, and will be the best for years to come. If you want good sound, good price, and Shure sound, this is your mic. Great on vocals as well.
