I have used Shure SM57s and 58s for decades and have to say that this mic outdoes them. Lots of presence and sizzle on vocals, and a real "alive" sound on my guitar cab. Have gotten several comments n how cool it looks. You can't leave it on your stand, so there's that extra 30 seconds of screwing and unscrewing the mic each night, and oh yeah--the mesh grill WILL pull out facial air if you get too close. All in all one of the best mics in my case, I use it every time.
its just the best mic i've ever used, and i've used a bunch. your voice will sound as natural as can be, as if it were not being amplified. i bought the refurbished model and it sounds perfect, just as good as the one brand new one i used, which belongs to a friend of mine, which is what made me buy this mic in the first place. get it, you will not be disappointed. ...one piece of advice - you'll want to pull back a bit on your Ps, Bs and Ss : )
This mic gives better results than a lot of well built dynamic microphones. Very good off-axis rejections. In my opinion, ideal for amping live electric guitars or vocals.
