    Comments about Behringer XM8500 Microphone:

I didn't know what to expect with this mic really, at that price. Boy, was I surprised when I tried it out. It is a quality mic. Good for lots of studio uses. I have used it to mic guitar amps, drums, vocals, and all have turned out fine.
I have not used this mic live, but I don't see why it wouldn't work very well.
I'd use it against a shure any day. I'd love to have an 57 version too!

Best all around mic for the money!

    Comments about Behringer XM8500 Microphone:

This Behringer XM8500 compares to the Shure SM58, yet at less than 1/3 the price of the latter. It's even better suited than the SM58 for studio use because of it's lower dB sensitivity (-70dbl compared to the SM58's -54). Highly recommend this mic for live and studio applications.

    Super Value

    By Bruce Moore

    Comments about Behringer XM8500 Microphone:

This mike compares favorably to SM 58 in tone (which we also have) and the Nady Starpower 1 which we replaced with this one. One of they guys in the band has been singing too loud because he could not hear himself well. Now with this mic he can hear himself better because of the upper midrange boost. He isn't singing so loud as to step on the lead vocal and he is actually singing better, with more emotion. We also used to have a problem with overload and I thought he was overloading the mic preamp but I have not hear the distortion since changing to this mike. This mic may take a higher SPL than the Nady we used before,

    Excellent Microphone

    Comments about Behringer XM8500 Microphone:

We bought these mics 8 years ago and the're still going. They have a very clear reproduction and they're very durable as they're metal encased(we've banged them around quite a bit while on the road and so far they still work the same as 8 years ago). The plastic case is also a nice plus, and protects the mic well. I've even used them to record some demos, and the results have been very satisfactory. Shure has nothing on these mics, I highly recommend them. I've bought them individually and also bought the 3-pack, which is a good value.
