The other reviewers are quite right. These hats project well, and have a great tone and chick for virtually any type of music. I tried the 14" pair first, but found them to be overly loud, and somewhat deeper in tone than I wanted. I play a lot of acoustic jazz. The 13" pair I wound up with perfectly match my ride and crash, and work well with my Pearl BRX kit. I can't imagine using anything else. If you are in the market for hats, the K/Zs should be your first choice. It's virtually impossible to go wrong!

This hi-hat is definitely worth your money. It is great for both rock, metal, and probably any other type of music you want to play. I have played both the 13 in. and the 14 in. and strongly recommend the 13. You should definitely look into buying this.

These hi-hats impressed me greatly. They had a nice high-end cut with low end to support the wash of the open sound. Open/closed patterns sounded very defined and the Z Custom bottom hi-hat boosted the cut while closed tightly. Overall, an excellent pair of hi-hats. I would recommend the 13'' size as well.
