Zildjian

Strong ride beat and cutting bell sound.

The A Series Zildjian is the world's most popular and versatile cymbal. Created from cast bronze alloy of 80% copper, 20% tin, and traces of silver, it is symmetrically machine hammered and lathed with a traditional wide groove. The result is an exuberant cymbal that bursts with a classic voice that is pure, bright, and expressive.

Beware

By tom-zW64p

Comments about Zildjian A Series Rock Ride Cymbal:

If you play really loud rock with plenty of guitar and bass, this is a great cymbal. Otherwise, you should keep looking. I have a 20" and it is very easy to lose control. The bell is a very distinct and cutting high sound, but for just riding, it tends to get washy and out of control. This cymbal is very loud and it wants to be heard. If you're not careful, it can be VERY overpowering. If you're into jazz, there is no chance of getting this to work for you, don't even try. All you guys playing in REALLY loud metal bands however will absolutely love this cymbal.

Great for heavy, driving music

By M.C. Miranda-RYcan

Comments about Zildjian A Series Rock Ride Cymbal:

This one is AWESOME if you want a cymbal that will cut through heavy walls of sound created by a pair of distorted guitars and bass. Punk, Metal, Rock - if you play heavy music you'll be pleased with this. IF you are able to, try this one out at a store before you buy to make sure they don't overpower your kit, you'll know immediately whether or not you want 'em and if they fit your style of music. OH and you'll need a matching pair of hi-hat cymbals, or ones that can at least keep up. It's got a bell that can pierce ears at 100 paces, please believe.

A good cymbal in the right situation

By Drumbum-sUApR

Comments about Zildjian A Series Rock Ride Cymbal:

First, let me just say this is a very good cymbal. It fits perfect into rock, just like the name. However, the cymbal itself is hard to control. It tends to get too loud and swell sometimes. It's also too 'pingy' for most music. If you play heavy metal or any other type of loud rock, I would recommend you give this a listen. If you play very dynamic music like jazz or any other music that focuses mainly on the ride cymbal, this is going to be too much. Its not dry enough for Jazz, and that was my biggest problem. I ended up selling this cymbal after having it for about a year, and I purchased the Zildjian K 20" ride. The K cymbal is more of an all purpose ride, which is what I was looking for. To sum this up, if you're into rock music definitely listen and play this ride before you buy it. The cymbal is well made, but depending on what you play you'll either love it or you'll hate it.

Bright, fat and high-pitched.

By Andy-hs1nv

from Michigan

Comments about Zildjian A Series Rock Ride Cymbal:

This is my favorite ride cymbal. I have the 21" model. On stage, it sounds bright and cuts through the mix while still complementing the music. Compared to others I have, this is a very loud cymbal, but when the band is playing and everything else is mic'ed, you need a little extra power behind your ride cymbal. The 21" rock ride enables you to still be heard. The only drawback is that in very low volume situations, it's simply too much. When that happens, I'll ride on the hi-hat or crash.
