I've been using my 19" projection crash for a year or so.. it's on my left as my primary crash- and it actually comes across as a higher pitch than my other 18" cymbals!! I like to rotate my other crashes on my right- i've got aaxplosion 18 + 19, aax dark 19, sabian hh medium 18- they're all beautiful cymbals, but for my all round primary accenting crash i just can't go past the projection crash- from punk rock to playing in church (medium volume and louder) and some fusion work. Overall it's got a fairly balanced timbre- with no frequencies really standing out in a harsh way.. but it does have more character than another standard a custom crash i had which almost sounded too 'perfect'- as if there was nothing distinguishable about it. I often pair it up with a sabian aaxplosion- the zildjian provides a real smooth but strong cutting accent while the aaxplosion rings out a little longer and is a little 'drier'- good for more crash riding. All in all I strongly recommend this cymbal. And don't be afraid to go big!

This cymbal is everything you want in a crash cymbal. It has that perfect crash sound that everyone is looking for. I own the 17" and it's my favorite cymbal on my kit. DON'T HESITATE, GET THIS CYMBAL!

18" is as expected...versatile (including it can project loudly when needed), the tone I expected after checking the Zildjian website and a solid feel. Recommended. The 16" was a big disappointment except the appearance matches the 18". It sounds more like the 14" Sabian thin crash I sold but costs 71% more. It has more the feel of the Zildjian A series. It won't project as loudly as the 18" no matter how hard you hit it. Not recommended.

This is one of the best bright cymbals I have ever had. I got a 17 inch and it sounds great and its a great overall cymbal for any style of music.

Has a great sound from the bell as well as a plain strike. Volumous punctuations. Very bright sound.
