I bought the double sided Vic Firth practice pad to practice my rudiments before purchasing my first drumset. I have to say I am very happy with this practice pad. I used the hard rubber side a lot which gave the feel and bounce of a real drum when I hit it and it wasn't too loud. I used the other side for quite play and it still gave the great bounce of a real drum. All in all, I was extremely happy with this practice pad.I highly recommend it.

Great Practice Pad
Comments about Vic Firth Single Sided Practice Pad:
I bought this for my daughter who is learning how to play snare for the high School Marching Band. It is portable and quiet.

IT'S ROCKIN' AWESOME!
Comments about Vic Firth Single Sided Practice Pad:
I don't have one (yet....), but a percussion dude who's a friend of mine does. I play on his all the time, and it is great. One the soft side, I practice my long rolls, rudiments, and other basic training techniques. But on the hard side, I practice speed, accuracy, and articulation. Therefore, both sides help me become a better percussionist. I am so getting one!

A very nice pad
Comments about Vic Firth Single Sided Practice Pad:
This pad has a very strong and sturdy base to it. You can ram and fram on it as much as you want and it is still better than ever. Even though I have a split surface Vic pad it's great too it helps the transition between the hands and is very good for marching snare drummers.

Comments about Vic Firth Single Sided Practice Pad:
My friend has this pad and they are absolutely amazing..... the only thing I suggest is making a rim to simulate rimshots..... otherwise 5 stars from me.

Great Practice Pad
Comments about Vic Firth Single Sided Practice Pad:
One of my fellow drummers bought one of these drum pads and I played on it one day and I really liked it. It had two sides on it so you can have 2 different feels when playing. It was way better than the one that came with my drum. I think all drummers of all ages and abilities should own one of these.

a very good pad 4 any player at any level
Comments about Vic Firth Single Sided Practice Pad:
This pad is great. I love it. I got the double-sided version. The pad alone increased my rudiments and hybrids by about 25%. But this pad could be a five if that plaque side was less bouncy, and the gray side had more rebound to it. The HQ pad is better by a bit so if you want top of the line get that, but this is good to.

Great Pad
Comments about Vic Firth Single Sided Practice Pad:
Great pad just like the real feel. The only problem is that the pad really attracts dust and dirt quickly, but you can wipe it off. The wood put into the pad is dense solid wood, so you don't have to worry about and particle board breaking. My Promark X-Pad only lasted a year, but this will last longer being made of solid wood.
