AJ6 Nice for Small Club
Comments about Vic Firth American Jazz Hickory Drumsticks:
I use these in a relatively small jazz club with a piano trio and singer. The smaller bead makes your cymbals take a "back seat" to the featured instrument (vocal). I use the AJ2's in a heavier situations. The only gripe I have with Vic Firth and several other companies, is that over the last several years, the beads on their sticks tend to split and splinter sooner after you start to use them. This never used to be a problem - hence the 4 stars. I haven't found a company yet that has anything better so I'll stick with Vic. The sticks are great and do what they are supposed to do, I just wish they lasted a bit longer.
