Interesting Pedal

By Drumguy58

Comments about The Duallist Single-Foot Double Pedal:

I've owned a Duallist for over three years now. I've been playing drum set for forty eight, using mostly single bass pedals. I did use a Zalmer Twin for a few years when they were new. I thought the Duallist would be nice to have for the occasion that I may want to surprise folks with some blast beats. I figured that if it worked at all as a double pedal and if I could set up the single pedal function to work as well as most any good single pedal, then it would be worth it to plunk down the bucks.
I've never been able to get the pedal to work well enough as a single pedal, let alone a double. I've tried pretty much every possible solution (various settings on each pedal, different beaters, different beater heights and angles) with little satisfaction. I am able to get pretty good doubles with very basic beats, and nice continuous triplets for shuffles, but the pedal just cannot keep up with my input. I think maybe if the posts were height adjustable and the pedalboards were heavier it may work a bit better. But every time I think I'll give it another shot, I end up removing it after it fails to respond as my other pedals do (and I have a nice collection of the best).
Maybe if this were your first pedal and you weren't used to anything else, you could make it work, as I have seen others (well, one other anyway) who have used it proficiently.

Great if you love Hi-Hat

By Danger Xtreme

Comments about The Duallist Single-Foot Double Pedal:

I have owned the duallist for a couple of years. This pedal is great if you want double bass and the ability to use your hi-hat. This pedal is not great if you want to play fast double especially for blast beats. I also dont recommend it for anyone who wants to play a lot of double. It is hard to do any complex double bass work. It is hard even doing triplets on it. However the pedal is smooth and can be adjusted a million different ways to your liking. Bottom line. Get this pedal if you dont play a lot of double, want the ability to play your hi-hat, and dont care for extreme double speed. Dont get this pedal, if you want to play blast beats, or want to do any intricate double bass playing.
