I got this snare as a christmas present from my wife, and i was amazed with the size of the shell, is super thick and surprisingly not heavy as oppossed to the starphonic brass i own too (a monster of a snare by the way) very responsive, warm tone, tune it up medium-high and you get a beautiful sound from it, tune tight and you get a high pitch piccolo-like sound with full body, and last but not least, the finish on this snare is very classie and preety... i definitely recommend this baby, get it now!!!
