A must have for the serious drummer

    Comments about Tama Rhythm Watch:

This metronome is specifically designed for drummers to practice timing in intricate signatures. We're the timekeepers, and this is the tool to keep you there, or develop your timing skills in unfamiliar signatures to expand your repertoire. The threading allows you to mount this tool just about anywhere using a standard 8mm boom arm or cymbal stand so you don't have to take your eyes off the action to ensure your in time.

Great, but good for two years

    By Steve Yost

    from Boston, MA

    Comments about Tama Rhythm Watch:

I love my Rhythm Watch, especially the way it lets you dial in a tempo very quickly. I use it at practices and gigs for hitting the starting tempo perfectly. My only problem is that after two years of continuous use (not abuse), the dial can no longer dial in the tempo accurately. It skips ahead by several notches for every slight turn of the dial. It's out of warranty and I don't see any way to get it repaired (all else works well). That said, I like it so much I've ordered another one. Just figure about $45/year to keep yourself in business with one of these.

More expensive and worth every penny!

    By Drum_Phil

    Comments about Tama Rhythm Watch:

Yes, this metronome costs more than most others out there, but it's worth it. The ability to vary the tempo and rhythms is a key component to player skill development and progression. Not only are the features of this product excellent but so is the quality. I've actually had mine for years now. The one offered here is, seemingly, virtually the same product. Why mess with a great thing? One of the things that's cool about this metronome is turning up the left three knobs (quarters, eights and sixteenths) then increasing the tempo so that the Tama RW Met is actually laying down a perfect open roll. Do that NON-STOP until your arms feel like they're gonna fall off. There is no better metronome on the market for building chops. This is just a cool product that, if taken care of, will last you for many years.

    Excellent Teaching Tool

    By Mark Peotter

    from Phoenix, Az.

    Comments about Tama Rhythm Watch:

I just tried this one time and I wish every music teacher had one! First of all, the click is very loud. So a drummer can mount it on a cymbal stand, the female screw hole is included, and actually play along. The separate dials on the upper half of the face are INDIVIDUAL VOLUME KNOBS! So you can hear which ever subdivision of the beat you'd like! This teaches students what the basic rhythm sounds like instantly, instead of trying to explain it for five minutes. I wish every drummer would practice with something like this, so they can get in touch with the subtle differences between 133 and 136 bpm. Or see the big difference between a 6/8 ballad at 64 bpm and 60 bpm. Most drummers I know only have about 5 tempos they are good at keeping steady. Let's fix that!
