Me and my friend both bought a sabian b8 16 inch crash and a sabian b8 14 inch crash. We both love the sound. Unlike the thicker cymbals, you don't have to give it a real hard hit to get a good crashy sound out of it, and it is a great price as well.

Great price, decent sound. Sheet metal makes it less sound quality, but it is good if you don't have much money. My whole set up is B8 and I am very pleased, no breakage and all are thin.

Decently strong, decent sound, excellent price, the thickness makes a big difference.

This cymbal-nice price, ok sound

Comments about Sabian B8 Series Thin Crash Cymbal:

Ok, so I needed to get another crash because only one cymbal....well its inconvenient. When the 14'' cymbal was put on, i started playing it. the sound was a high pitched mix between a smash and a ping. the sound is not made to be a rhythm hit....more like accents. but then again, the bell is nice for a quick and quiet ride. the bell doesnt need an edge for resonance, just a tip. hitting with the body of your stick on the bell creates a cool echo, I will have to say-this is a good buy. the 14'' doesnt need a strong stand- it's seriously light. I use a dixon stand that is extremely cheap, and it holds greatly. But you may want to keep it in the washers as it will then go flying around the stand. Another note is that it's supertough. My zildjian china cracked after about 3 months of hardcore blasting. the sabian has survived for a long time-1 year!Overall, a good start. The color is surprisingly suitable with zbt's, especially if you like a mixed pot of cymbals. The ride qualities of this crash are a bit slim, washy but if hit too hard on the body with your tip youll get a terrible crash. The cymbal is nice to go for that lighter accent as well. a light tap on the body gives a pretty little jazz note. So i think that this is a good start for those who are lower in funds, and you get a bit more than what the price says.

Extremely good cymbal

By Matt F.

from Kentucky louisville

Comments about Sabian B8 Series Thin Crash Cymbal:

This cymbal is probably the best cymbal i have ever had and at a great price, too. This crash is crisp cutting and if you need to play it quietly can without overpowering the rest of the band.

Good job Sabian (Finally)

By idongivatruk

Comments about Sabian B8 Series Thin Crash Cymbal:

The 14" Crash is the good cymbal to come out of the B8 line. Sabian did a nice job on it and it's a great cymbal for beginners. A suggestion for all skill levels (especially beginners) to start on the right foot: ZBT

the cymbal is better than the price

By Michael Murillo

Comments about Sabian B8 Series Thin Crash Cymbal:

I have played on Zildjians, Paiste, Peaveys even all kinds of off brands and nothing beats this brand. Finally a cymbal you can play with a pair of 5A sticks or 7A's. You don't have to hit them hard like Zildjians or Paiste. The lightest will do. (They're very responsive) I purchased a 14 inch thin crash after recording with a Zildjian thin crash which inspired me to buy one. I didn't have much money so I went with Sabian. It was the first cymbal I purchased in April of '03 and it still sounds like new. Every cymbal I buy now is from Sabian I still need hi-hats and a crash ride from Sabian. I encourage anybody to buy these cymbals.

long lasting,Great quality

Comments about Sabian B8 Series Thin Crash Cymbal:

The B8 thin crash has to be one of the best crashes I've used to date. I got mine four years ago and it's just cracked today. It's taken my abuse from progressive rock to downright heavy metal. I like the fact that they designed the cymbal for maximum pitch gain. This allows it to cut through the music well. The only complaints I have about the cymbal are that it gets smudged easily and the finish is dull. (Nothing a bit of polish can't fix.) Other than that, Sabian has done it again by producing one of the finest crashes out there. The B8 line of cymbals can make your setup very versatile at a low cost and will have you sounding great in no time at all.

Good but...

By A. Hubert

from Repentigny, Quebec, Canada

Comments about Sabian B8 Series Thin Crash Cymbal:

I got this cymbal in a combo crash/ride from Sabian. The sound is not what I expected, lacks punch and has a cheap metal sound to it when not played loud, also is a bit fragile (so they say). Mine didn't crack yet and seems strong enough. But I will go for a more expensive one next time and probably a medium crash instead of a thin crash.
