I had recently made the switch to Remo after using another brand for years. Bought a new drumset on this site and new heads for them including these Clear Emperors for the rack toms. After buying several more heads and trying several resonant to batter head combinations on my 10" and 12" rack toms to try to get similar tones and stick feel, I finally changed the Emperor batter on my 12" and found that it was the culprit. I was on the verge of doing something drastic, like returning the drums, on the assumption the bearing edge on my drum must be defective or something else. Sure cost me a lot of time, effort and money to learn the hard way that Remo might sell you a dud. Great heads generally but lookout.

I love these drum heads. They are best for heavy music. They sound very deep!!the best drum heads I've played with!!

Bought these to replace the Evans single coated heads that came with my Premier Maple Artist series (includeing the snareand bass). What a difference! The deep punch sound enhances the sound produced by the maple.
