Beautifully unique but loud enough?
Comments about Remo Roto Toms 6", 8" and 10":
I found a set used in a local music shop. This is definitely one of those 5 star items. Immediately fell in love with the concept, but the loudness compared to a standard acoustic drum set is in question. Probably have to mike or piezo them for true equalization. Still, I put some money down and plan on buying them. LOVE the concept of being able to tune a tom between songs. (Plan on adding note markings to the rotary so I know approx. which note I am setting, then hitting. I'm a fair beginner, only recreational playing, but these were just TOO unique to pass up for the price. Most people put them behind their hi-hat. I plan on trying to put them in front of the bass drum, slant them severly and try to hit them with the heads vertical. May add a boom if possible to get them above my mounted toms. Think about it, one cymbal and a stand could cost this much.

Fun
Comments about Remo Roto Toms 6", 8" and 10":
Remo Rototoms are a very unique addition to a drum set, at least for me. I like the range that you get out of each tom, which can be changed quickly. I prefer rototoms instead of purchasing a 10 inch rack tom as you get much more effects that help you bring your beats to a new level. In the past the rotoms were great for practicing on, if you march with quad/tri toms, saves your back!! Only problem with rototoms is you may go through a lot of heads, due to overtightening while playing. They like to twist out of tune as well. Just buy a nut for each post tune the rotom to where you like it and then snug the nut up to the bottom of the rototom and problem solved. If you want to be able to adjust while playing, just put two nuts together at a point where you think the head will snap, which will keep the drum from being tightened into the no no zone(snap). Reasonable price for some extra effects.
