Skin-like sound.

A warmth, sensitivity, and articulation reminiscent of calfskin all characterize Renaissance heads. These heads have a very warm and tonal sound that's great for melodic expression and affords a wider, more balanced sound spectrum for tympani, snares, toms, and bass drums in any drumming application.
For snare drums and timbales, the textured surface provides excellent stick and brush response that will not degrade under harsh playing. For toms, Renaissance combines the warmth and depth of laminated heads, the clarity and response of coated heads, with the resonance and projection of clear heads.

Comments about Remo Renaissance Ambassador Tom Batter:

Nice sound. Not too bright, not too dead either. Mounted on JCR Timbales, great combination to achieve great sound.

        Batter head for snare

Comments about Remo Renaissance Ambassador Tom Batter:

I play jazz and this head is the closest I've found to the feel and sound of genuine calf (I'm a former calfskin user). It's brush response is great and lasts longer than any other head I've tried. The Fyberskin 3 heads are wonderful for the toms but I find that when used for the snare batter, the surface tends to bubble from the oils of your hands (when playing cross-sticked bossa novas). The Renaissance head doesn't do that! I been using this head since it was introduced and I find that only change it about every 8-12 months. It's that good!

        Remo Ambassador Renaissance

        By Izac A.

Comments about Remo Renaissance Ambassador Tom Batter:

These heads worked the best for my wood snare drums. I bought a new pearl 10x 4 the other day and these drumheads made it sound killer. I turned around and bought one for my 12x 6 and that snare had a that deep fat tone that I've always been trying to get. Other heads worked but were not as durable as this one. I took this one on tour with me for two weeks through sunshine, rain, and a lot of hard loud playing, unmiked of course, and these heads held up unlike some of the other heads I've played in the past.

        Perfect for brushes

        By Howard Greene

        from Los Angeles,CA

Comments about Remo Renaissance Ambassador Tom Batter:

Remo Renaissance Ambassador heads are great for jazz and are perfect for brushes. Unlike regular coated heads, they still sound good with brushes even after they've been played for a long time. On toms and bass drum they sound warm and resonant.
