I was lucky and had this head supplied from the dealer with my Yamaha Oak Custom.I didn't need to have any dampening in the kick at all. I have since put in one SMALL pillow, but this is just to get a fatter SLAP sound from it. Great low note and rapid decay. Haven't heard anything better.

The Powerstroke 3 clear bass drum head is the best bass head I have ever played with. It has a warm 'phat' sound and doesn't resonate too much. The head has a fast decay and sounds great for rock/punk music but can be used over a variety of styles. The remo 'Flam Slam' pad that comes with the head is also great for protecting the head from the bass pedal beater. Overall a great buy.

This bass drum head is the best for heavy music but it works for pop too. it brings a great power to the bass drum. I would recommend this drum head for those who want their drums to sound good!!!

Has solid fat sound, I have had an Evans emad which sounds ok, but just put a towel behind this for muffle. It sounds better, and it's cheaper. Really can't get much better than this.

The Remo Powerstroke 3 drumhead is great for that deep, low "thud;" it gives a quick loud beat and then dies in a flash. It's Travis Barker's drumhead of choice, so obviously it's good for rock/punk music, but can probably made to suit other styles as well
