Introduced in 1968, CONTROLLED SOUND heads are single-ply Ambassador-weight heads with a 5 mil dot in the center of the head. This combination offers a controlled, centered sound without undesirable overtones.
These dual-zone heads have a combination of medium and heavy-duty drumhead characteristics. The outer area of the head's playing surface offers a midrange tone and sensitivity while the laminated center dot eliminates high frequency overtones and adds durability and tonal focus to meet the demands of heavier hitters.

okay so i broke my drumhead which was a gammon factory drumhead. so i went to my local store and got this head because i liked the dot in the middle that told me it would last longer. so i got it and went home tuned her up. So then i grabbed my sticks when i was done and just did a test hit. Then i heard a great tone and crisp sound. All i now need to do is get a dampener because it rings alittle too long.

Drummers, take your snare drum sound up to a new level with these drumheads! I would also recommend that you check out two or three heads before making a purchase because I've seen a few from time to time where the dot is mounted a bit off-center.In conclusion, these are excellent, effective, versatile drumheads from Remo. Highly recommended!

This is an excellent drum head. It sounds really good and looks really cool on your snare. My Snare sounded rubbish but now with this it sounds really cool. If you hit the white it sounds crisp, if you hit the black dot it sounds really tinny and makes a "ping" noise.

This head has lasted me for such a long time. Must have been a least eight months before I had to change it. It has such a great sound and it looks good on your snare.
