I bought this set for my 3 and 5 year old. They've been banging around on this set. It has held up to their punishment. Product is well made and assembly is IMO, easy. I would recommend it as a starter set.

I bought this for my son on Christmas 2009 - it's still rockin. Get a couple of splash cymbals and you're ready to go. I only wish I'd bought the 4 piece set. It's made strong and it sounds good too.

A great drum set at a good price point. I purchased this set for my 4-year old's birthday through the online eBay store. This is a quality professional junior drum kit, not what's sold at a toy store. The hardware is better than average, the three drums themselves are excellent quality wood and sound and the cymbals are good enough to do the job. Beautiful color in wine red. It did not come with instructions, but assembly was simple and the boxes are grouped & labeled with respective hardware for each component. I was amazed it all shipped in such a small box, literally the size of the kick drum. This kit is a hit with my 4-year old son and his 6 year old sister. Their feet can easily reach the pedals, due to it's scaled down size. It doesn't look like you can expand the kit to add more toms or cymbals. I am curious if you can get replacement heads for the drums from the manufacturer or just buy generic heads in that size? Perfect drum set for a beginner! If the manufacturer included ear plugs for parents, it would be perfection!
